The scrumptious smell tempted Papa, who was
following behind them. “Who’s hungry?” he asked.
Soon, they were chomping on sandwiches almost
as long as their arms, and listening to a nearby fife
and drum corps playing Revolutionary War tunes.
“Use your napkin, Grant,” Christina mumbled
with her mouth full. She laughed as Grant swiped at
the strings of cheese hanging off his chin.
“So far, I love Philadelphia!” Grant said, rubbing
his tummy.
Stuffed, they headed down Market Street for
Franklin Court.
“Wanna see the Ghost House?” Hunter asked.
“Sure!” Grant exclaimed. “Ghosts don’t scare me!”
“Meet you in a few!” Christina promised Mimi
and Papa as she and Grant scampered behind
Hunter and Isabella in anticipation.
Grant soon grew impatient. “I don’t see
anything!” he whined.
“It’s right in front of you!” Hunter said, pointing
to a metal frame outline of a house.
“Nothing’s there,” Christina said.
“Ever hear of Ben Franklin?” Isabella asked.
“Of course,” Christina replied. “He’s one of the
Founding Fathers of our country and he helped
write the Declaration of Independence.”
