Others paraded alongside Chikere after their arrest at Obitti in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area by operatives of the Special Anti-robbery Squad, SARS, are Chibuike Oyiwara, Amuzie Uchenna and Odunze Azunna. It was gathered that the Police operatives have been on the trail of the syndicate for months over the alleged murder of their victims, said to be young boys. Also arrested in connection with the kidnap and murder case are Chibuike Oyiwara, Amuzie Uchenna and Odunze Azunna. The state Police Commissioner, Rabiu Ladodo, has said that the arrest of the suspects alongside 94 others were the achievements of Operation Puff Adder, launched in the state. He said: “The above named suspects were arrested by Operatives of SARS Imo State. They were arrested in connection with the beheading of three boys at Obitti in 2018. “One of the suspects, Desmond Alozie, sustained gunshot injury on his right leg in a gun battle with operatives. He was rushed to hospital for medication where he was treated and discharged. “One of the suspects, Chikere Prince, has confessed he belongs to Iceland cult that killed the boys. “One locally-made doublebarrelled gun with four live unexpended cartridges, 20 wraps of marijuana, large quantity of Indian hemp wrappers/paper, five roll bond used for cocaine, five lighters, two cutlasses and one black motorcycle were recovered from them.” Ekiti in Ekiti. After I was induced, I gave birth on Tuesday morning at about 3:45a.m. “I lost a lot of blood during delivery and I was to be given blood through transfusion. But my husband was not around, so I had to call my mom. “I was on transfusion from Wednesday to Friday morning. After the transfusion, the doctor recommended another transfusion, but I refused because we were not financially buoyant and he understood. “I was to be discharged that day, but when the doctor came in the evening, he said there was another test that they need to conduct the next morning.” Taken Continuing, she said: “At about 6:17p.m., a lady who dressed like a doctor came straight to me and asked where the form is. I gave her the form the doctor gave me earlier, but she said it was not the one, that it is the one for the baby. “I told her I was not given any form for the baby, but she told me the baby needs to be tested too, as her blood sample was needed and that I should give her my baby. “I had undressed the baby, but she insisted that I should dress the baby because she was taking the baby to the children’s ward and requested that my mother should follow her.” She said that shortly after they left her presence, the ‘doctor’ told the mother to go back and look after her, that she would bring the hotel where the pastor had been hiding. Detectives reportedly tracked the suspects through the mobile phone that he was using to make contact with the church members. Amba Asuquo, the state’s Commissioner of Police, confirmed that the command is investigating the incident, but refused to disclose the identities of the suspects. “Yes, there is something close to that, but we are still investigating and will come out with the details later,” he told reporters. When asked if the reverend was among the suspects in custody, Asuquo said: “I know. We have some suspects in custody in connection with the incident, but I cannot reveal their identities to you now.” When the news of the reverend’s kidnap broke, several members of his congregation took to social media to solicit support towards his rescue. The explosion, which occurred around 5p.m., forced the management to shut operations immediately. The incident which occurred near a stream when the deceased went to fetch water, Tuesday evening, has thrown the agrarian community, popular for its huge yams’ market, into confusion. The assailant was said to have laid ambush, grabbed the girl from behind as she bent to collect water from the stream and chopped the head off. He was said to have taken to his heels after the act, but was later arrested through the information provided by the younger sister of the deceased, who was at the scene of the incident. Multiple sources in the community, including the traditional ruler, the Alasa of Ilasa, Oba Ajayi Omolagba, revealed that the young lady had been allegedly betrothed to the suspected assailant as a future wife, while she was still a teenager in line with their custom many, who had gone to the shopping mall for relaxation to mark the June 12 celebration of Democracy Day, were still at the centre when explosion went off. A source, who did not want his name in print, disclosed that the explosion happened in one of the kitchens. Sources said the helicopter crash-landed while returning from operation and detonated a bomb. It was gathered that the empty shell of the bomb smashed glasses in the new terminal wing of the airport and hit a residential house few metres from the airport. A combined team of soldiers, Police, Air Force, officials of the FAAN barricaded the main gate to the airport, making it difficult to gain entrance into the area. Zaharadeen Dayyabu, one of the landlords whose house was hit by the empty shell of the detonated bomb, said his fence saved him and his family from being hurt by the bomb. According to him, “we were in the house with my family when we heard a heavy sound. My wife was the first to run out, only to see our fence penetrated by the empty bomb shell. “It was the fence to my house that protected and saved us from being hit by the shell. It was gathered that the dead man was identified as Mr. Adenipekun Ademiju, a worker in the Atakumosa West Local Government Area of Osun State. Ademiju was said to have boarded a vehicle at Osu town going to Ibadan, when he and other passengers were attacked at Ikire community along the expressway. According to an eyewitness, Ademiju was hit by bullet as the robbers fired indiscriminately to forcefully stop the vehicle. The eyewitness said: “The man was killed instantly by herdsmen, who rob regularly on this road.
