The Photography of Mary Barker on Exhibit
at Rowley Public Library
The Rowley Public Library is currently hosting the work of Rowley resident Mary Barker, a nautical
photographer specializing in documenting the restoration of historic wooden boats. Mary’s minimalist
style in editing and use of natural and existing lighting provide a traditional maritime feel to her photography.
She is the staff photographer for the 1926 Essex-built Schooner Adventure in Gloucester,
and her photographs have been featured in Wooden Boat, Marlinspike, and Sea History magazines, the
2018 Tall Ship Directory, many local brochures, blogs and newspapers, and numerous international
sailing and maritime FaceBook pages including the British Maritime Museum. Her current display will
be here through July at the Rowley Public Library, 141 Main Street in Rowley. For more information,
