1.2 ‘D&I PROTECTED CHARACTERISTICS’<br />
The Naval Service is committed to respecting D&I and therefore no unlawful or unfair discrimination, bullying or harassment will be<br />
tolerated against any person on the grounds of one or more of the Protected Characteristics (PCs):<br />
• sex,<br />
• race,<br />
• religion or belief,<br />
• gender reassignment,<br />
• sexual orientation,<br />
• marriage or civil partnership,<br />
• pregnancy and maternity,<br />
• age and disability.<br />
Furthermore, unfair treatment on grounds of gender identity or gender expression is not to be tolerated. All personnel shall have<br />
equality of opportunity for employment, training, career management and promotion within their Service on the basis of their ability,<br />
performance and aptitude for work. The prevention or resolution of harassment or bullying should never be subordinated to<br />
tradition, custom or the apparent maintenance of morale.<br />
