Title: Sports Co-ordinator
School: Trinityhouse High Little Falls
Years teaching sport: 15 years
How do you keep motivated and on track
to teach the sporting codes on offer at
school?
My motivation is the need to see young
sportsmen and sportswomen succeed as well
as see how sport can become an extension
of the classroom in more ways than one. It’s
seeing a non-sporty pupil joining a sport and
trying out and making a success of it; the smile
at the end of a match; the teamwork and selfrespect
the pupils gain from sport.
What sports philosophy do you hope to
instil in your pupils? What do you want your
pupils to take away from participating in
sports?
I try and instil a culture of positive participation
as well as one that allows the pupils to know
that winning is a good habit, but one habit
that does not have to be achieved at all costs.
A culture that puts God first as, without Him,
nothing would be possible. Pupils should
make friends and create lifelong memories
through sport.
Title: Sports and Arts Co-ordinator
School: Trinityhouse Preparatory Heritage Hill
Years teaching sport: 8 years
How do you keep motivated and on track
to teach the sporting codes on offer at
school?
Being a new addition to the Trinityhouse
family, I’m very motivated to implement a new
system that will empower the teachers more
so that they stay excited and motivated for
every sporting code at Trinityhouse Heritage
Hill. We’re receiving excellent new facilities
and that in itself will contribute immensely to
building and expanding sport at Trinityhouse
Heritage Hill.
What sports philosophy do you hope to
instil in your pupils? What do you want your
pupils to take away from participating in
sports?
Participation is key! The results will follow
participation. Getting every child and teacher
involved and having a positive mindset and
vibe throughout the entire school will be the
main focus. Respect, discipline and great
sports conduct are what I want for the children
and teachers to take away from sport.
