PRE-PRIMARY
HERITAGE HILL
Sports: Outdoor
movement games are
a firm favourite in the
Owlet Class. Khulane
De Conceicao wins one
for the team, as they
play tug-of-war against
their fellow classmates.
Academics: Preschool pupils are
incredibly inquisitive and more
than able to grasp the basic
principles of Maths through playbased
activities and structured
learning. Here we see Vhulenda
Ambani in the Zebra Class
playing dominoes, which helps to
improve number concept.
Leadership: Leadership can take
many forms. Here the Grade
000 Penguin Class displays
leadership skills through being
the Bakerman. Each child is
in charge of collecting money
and handing out treats to their
peers. Oatile Letshwiti stands
proudly with his treats.
Sports: The Grade 0s thoroughly
enjoy our gross motor
programme. Our lessons always
include a variety of skills such
as balance, locomotion, handeye
co-ordination, foot-eye
co-ordination, core strength and
general fitness. Just look at Anele
Sithole in the Giraffe Class about
to smash the tennis ball.
Cultural: “Art is not
entertainment. Art is not luxury
goods. Art is culture. It is you
and me.” – Paige Bradley
Uzanenkosi Mathenjwa in the
Grade 0 Zebra Class proudly
holds her gorgeous artwork.
Academics: Perceptual skills
form the foundation of learning
and Linathi Bongco and Ndzalo
Phaswane in the Grade 00
Bees Class could not wait to
get started with heir puzzle on
International Puzzle Day. Visual
puzzles help develop many
perceptual skills and form an
important part of our weekly
programme.
Leadership: It is important to
encourage early leadership skills
in children by allowing them
to take on age-appropriate
responsibilities. In Grade 00,
all the pupils are given the
opportunity to take on roles
of responsibility within their
classes. Here you see Noah
Bouwer from the Grade 00 Bees
handing out sandwiches to his
friends.
