He said that he was
shocked to notice the
Peace, commended FAAN
and the Federal
Government for taking the
bold decision to close the
airport for repairs
Confirming the closure,
Mrs Henrietta Yakubu
,General Manager,
Corporate Affairs, FAAN ,
said “The Federal Airports
Authority of Nigeria, FAAN,
hereby notifies airlines,
passengers and all other
the runway at Akanu Ibiam
International Airport in
Enugu will be closed for
major repairs and works on
the airfield”.
“This move is aimed at
resolving the existing
Safety/Security concerns
to flight operations. A date
to reopen the runway will be
communicated in due
course,” she said.
Responding, Ugwuanyi,
who appreciated the members
of the committees for their
commitment and diligence in
the discharge of their tasks,
noted with delight the enthusiasm
and positive feedback
that greeted the exercise, describing
it as a source of motivation.
FAAN to close Enugu
Airport for repairs
Speaking on the move,
Allen Onyema Chairman,
and CEO, Air Peace, said,
“The management and staff
of Air Peace wish to
commend the FG for the
decision to close the Enugu
international Airport in
order to allow a proper
repair and maintenance of
the airports runway which
has given us serious safety
concerns.
“We will not fail to thank
the Federal Government for
AMBASSADOR Eze
N. Ebere has asked
President Muhammadu
Buhari to revisit the
removal of former IGP
Suleiman Abba who
“former President Goodluck
Jonathan angrily and
illegally sacked for losing
2015 presidential election
on the grounds that he went
to welcome General Buhari
at the airport”.
Ebere pleaded with the
“It is what you use that you
ultimately pay for. You do not
pay for what you do not use. I
have been a victim. So, it is my
responsibility now as a product
champion to ensure that others
do not fall victim”, he said.
Adeniyi, who described the
company as not only the biggest
in sub-Saharan African but
on the entire African continent
in terms of metering solution,
said with a capacity of three
million pre-paid meters per
annum on a single shift, it is
capable of producing six million
working in two shifts in a
year.
“Our facility is clearly and
arguably the biggest in Africa
in terms of metering solution.
People always said we are the
biggest in sub-Saharan Africa
but I have since come to realize
that we are actually the biggest
in Africa. That’s the truth”, the
CEO added.
“We work in three major activities.
We assemble SKDs
which is a semi knock down
component for prepaid meters,
two and three phases. We also
go into what we call Injunction
Moulding for the manufacture
of meter boxes, because all our
boxes are pole mounted.
“So we need boxes to accommodate
them when they are
outside because of the weather.
And the third thing we do is to
assemble those metals, the assembled
SKDs into the manufactured
metal boxes, that is
why we call it Metering Solution
Manufacturing Company”.
Firm unveils analytical labs to support local content
Speaking during the
unveiling ceremony which was
attended by the representative
of NAFDAC, SON and other
stakeholders, the Managing
Director of LS Scientific
Limited, Mr. Olumurewa
Odunjo said that the
company has invested over
N300m, assuring that
products manufactured in
Nigeria would be safer,
the appointment of Capt.
Yadudu as the Managing
Director of FAAN. His
appointment is a testimony
to the Federal
Government’s resolve to put
result driven persons at the
helm of its agencies. Air
Peace is not alone in this
thought. Since his coming,
airlines have started
enjoying the services that
would definitely improve
the standards in the
industry”.
Envoy asks Buhari to review IGP
Suleiman Abba’s removal
healthier and scientifically
advanced in terms of
technology.
He noted that the labs, which
include, Chemistry lab,
Microbiology Lab,
Instrumentation Lab and
Technical Repair and
Calibration Lab was installed
to improve quality of locallymade
products for export and
President to compensate
the former top cop.
The Executive Director of
Eze Ebere Foundation, who
noted that he was the first
elite to see Buhari goodwill
that made him endorse his
re-election ahead of the
February 23, 2019
elections, said: “It will be
very good to reward every
good work done by any
Nigerian, particularly
former IGP Suleman Abba
who is a very good man.
“His illegal sack brought
a lot of gaps in the police
and I believe this is one of
the reasons we are
experiencing the level of
security challenges we are
facing today in this country.
“Abba should have retired
this year 2019. Now
imagine how we have
wasted the experience that
would have helped to
resolve our security
challenges today” .
backdrop of the reported
suicide of a student of
The deceased was the
latest in the strings of
times. A copy of her
from her portal page
showed that she had many
outstanding courses
