Columbia Health provides extensive on campus healthcare programs and services for
students while they are enrolled at the University. Columbia Health works with the
Columbia Student Health Insurance Plan (or an accepted, comparable plan) to meet your
healthcare needs and help students achieve personal and academic success.
All full-time and international students have access to Columbia Health’s services
through the mandatory Health and Related Services Fee. They are also required to have
their enrollment in the Columbia Student Health Insurance plan or submit a waiver that
provides proof of alternate coverage that meets the established criteria set by Columbia
Health.
Part-time students may avail of Columbia Health services by paying the Health and
Related Services Fee and enroll in the Columbia Student Health Insurance Plan.
Columbia Health expects all incoming students to complete the Student Health History
Form prior to their arrival at Columbia University. It is completely confidential and
becomes part of students’ medical record. The form should include any medical
information that is pertinent to ongoing care, particularly around current treatment and
prescriptions, as well as immunization records. Columbia Health does not share this
information, or any other information about your health, with anyone without the
student’s written permission.
