“Beyond the
Dressing Room”
Wow so what a journey it’s been to get to this
point! Six years of hard work by so many
people, the majority have been with the club
since the first meeting held all that time ago.
Admittedly some volunteers have come and gone, but today is a day
that everyone who has donated any time to this wonderful club of
ours, should be extremely proud of their contribution to help in
returning the club back to where it was six years ago.
Today is the first home game of our Premier Division season...
Do you know how good that feels right!? Premier Division!
It feels so so amazing to know the club are right back (no further
forward) than when the original club folded back in 2013. It was
riddled with finance worries, a ground that was falling down around
everyone's ears and mounting problems. Now we head into the
several volunteers, they receive no payment for their time, dedication
and in some cases, blood sweat and tears. Lots of club’s in nonleague
football have amazing volunteers, but the sheer size of the
task here at Darlaston on a weekly basis really proves just how
passionate people are about our club and reputation, by the work
they do. I mentioned earlier about skill sets, a collection of people
from all walks of life have dovetailed together to put Darlaston back
on the map, people such as Civil Servants, business owners,
Accountants, Salesmen, trades people, everyone has their part to
play, and it is very rare at Darlaston to find an instance when
