Off the field our hardworking committee, volunteers and supporters have been
at work making improvements, upgrades, renovations and improvements since
the end of last season. You will not necessarily see or notice them all but they
include nearly £12,000 spent on all four pitches, jet washing slabs in front of
the clubhouse, painting benches, painting post and rail and goal posts, wet
clean of carpets, all windows cleaned inside and out, grounds maintenance
work on the perimeter trees, bushes and privet as well as numerous repairs
and improvements. A special mention to supporters Pete and Alma Davies,
Paul Gutteridge, Stuart Hayes, Phil Chambers , John Reeves as well as some
of the ladies team and youth teams players and parents for their tremendous
help.
Of course there are still funds to be raised during pre-season with club events,
room hires and sponsorships to be arranged and finalised. As always Anton
Allen and Garry and Lynne Hale have been at the fore in running the club bar,
events and hires.
On the sponsorship front we have agreed a new 3 year deal with The Trade
Centre UK, Wednesbury for our away kit whilst all last yearʼs sponsors have
again signed up. It is also fantastic to see that all of our players and
management team have also been sponsored.
This season will be tough and we know we will be competing against many
clubs with playing budgets, some quite sizeable, so we know we have a difficult
task in front of us. However I have no qualms that Andy, his management team
and players will work their socks off and leave no stone unturned to achieve
success.
Finally the support at Pershore Town last Saturday was superb with about 40
supporters travelling to see the team and give them tremendous support. I
know that Andy, the players, particularly the new players to the club who are
not used to such levels of support were delighted with such vocal support.
To everyone of you – Thank You and long may it continue.
Enjoy todayʼs game…………..
