Alexis Sanchez out for three months
Inter Milan forward Alexis Sanchez faces "two or
three months out" after injuring his ankle on
international duty, Chile boss Reinaldo Rueda says.
Sanchez - on loan at the Italian club from
Manchester United - was hurt in Chile's 0-0 friendly
draw with Colombia in Alicante on Saturday.
The Chilean Football Federation said the 30-yearold
had dislocated tendons in his left ankle.
Sanchez, who joined Antonio Conte's Inter on a
season-long loan deal in August, scored on his first
start for the Serie A title hopefuls against
Sampdoria on 28 September and he also impressed
in their Champions League defeat at his former
club Barcelona.

Alisson set for
Liverpool comeback
at Old Trafford
Alisson is primed to make his return in Liverpool's
biggest game of the season at Old Trafford after
recovering from a serious calf issue.
The Brazil international has been absent since
he tore his calf muscle in the 37th minute of the
opening game of the campaign against Norwich,
an injury that was so severe it left him on crutches
for a short period.
Liverpool initially had a time frame of eight weeks
in mind for Alisson's absence but they have been
careful not to ask him to do too much, too soon to
minimise the potential risk of him suffering a
setback.
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager, toyed with the
idea of starting Alisson in the final Premier League
game before the international break against
Leicester but, as he had only just returned to full
training, the German erred on the side of caution.
Provided he comes through the next week without
any reaction, Alisson will be between the posts for
the clash with Manchester United as the league
leaders look to consolidate their place at the top.
Alisson, who was signed for £64.6million in July
2018, had a huge impact in his first season on
Merseyside and his outstanding performance in the
Champions League final ensured he was
recognised as the world's finest goalkeeper at the
FIFA Best awards last month.
It is a reflection on how well Adrian has done in
Alisson's absence, however, that he has not been
missed as much as Liverpool initially feared.
Neymar ruled out for four weeks
with hamstring strain
Neymar has been ruled out for four
weeks with a grade two
hamstring strain.
The 27-year-old begun his recovery
in Paris on Monday after picking up
the injury against Nigeria during
international duty with Brazil.
The Paris Saint-Germain star posted
a photo on Instagram of himself on a
bed in Paris with the caption
'recovery'.
Neymar will miss PSG's two
Champions League clashes against
Club Brugge but should be back in
time to face Real Madrid.
Brazil national team doctor Rodrigo
Lasmar had initially said the 27-yearold
did not have a serious injury.
Lasmar told Globo Esporte:

Uzoho vows to
come back

Super Eagles’ goalkeeper
Francis Uzoho has said that he
would be over his injury suffered
while manning the post in
Sunday's international friendly
against Brazil.
Uzoho, who showed some
improvement in his skill, was
stretchered out in the 63rd minute
after an awkward landing in the
box. The extent of the injury has
not been disclosed but the Cyprus
based keeper said via Twitter that
he be back stronger and better.

said he regrets the injury to Uzoho
and hoped that the goalkeeper will

The Italian national team visited
Pope Francis at the Vatican on
Sunday, a day after securing
qualification for Euro 2020.
Roberto Mancini's team beat
Greece 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico
in Rome on Saturday, making it
seven wins out of seven and
guaranteeing the Azzurri top spot
in qualifying Group J.
And a day later, the whole squad
suited up to visit Pope Francis,
presenting him with a personalised
Italy national team shirt, with
Francis' actual surname 'Bergoglio'
on the back.
Pope Francis also greeted the
President of the Italian Football
Federation Gabriele Gravina, and
members of the backroom staff
during the approximate 40 minute
meeting.
