Awareness Up, Injuries Down
SafeStart is an internationally recognized safety
enhancement program focussed on creating awareness of
the role human factors play in injury prevention. Safestart
will help us all realize the impact that states such as rushing,
frustration, fatigue, and complacency have on our everyday
lives before they have the potential to cause serious injury.
It’s not about rules and procedures or specific workplace
hazards. It’s about keeping those hazards in mind and in sight
24/7, in every aspect of our daily lives – home, work, and play.
“The SafeStart concepts are so simple, they are almost
intuitive,” explains SafeStart Trainer, Paula Murphy. “They’re
even simple enough for our children to understand.” The
value of SafeStart comes in developing the skills required to
self-trigger quickly enough, and the habits that either need
to be developed or changed—those take time and personal
effort. But it’s time and effort well spent when you take into
consideration the significant results that you can expect
from SafeStart.
SafeStart will help us to:
• Significantly reduce personal injuries – at home, work and play
• Improve safety communication in our homes and workplaces
• Create a shared safety vocabulary: “eyes on task,” “mind on
task,” “line-of-fire,” and “balance, traction, and grip”
• Share safety tips, stories and learning with our loved ones
at home
