THE GREEN HANDBOOK

attending; and also one on the same

day at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh.

• In 2005 we helped to organise a

‘Positive Education’ conference at

the Pollock Halls in Edinburgh, also

with his Holiness.

• Our staff has expanded over the

years and we now have 4 full time,

6 part time and some amazing

volunteers.

• We now have a residential capacity of

34! Year by year we have continually

upgraded Allanton and are grateful

to all the groups and individuals who

have enabled us to do this.

• We run Forest School every Friday

morning in term time.

• In 2012 we co-organised an event

in Oldham with 1000 teachers and

children from 24 schools.

• We have written our own Education

programme for teachers:

‘Peace Prevails’

www.peaceprevails.education.

• Since 2017 we now have a very

supportive Advisory Board from the

local community.

• Every Wednesday we have a

Volunteers Day.

• This year is our 20th Annual World

Peace Festival. The numbers of those

attending has risen each year and

this year many of our friends and

colleagues will join us from around

the world for this celebration.

• 2016 saw the development of our

Peace Pole Henge. There are 200

Peace Poles, one for every country

of the world, linking the ancient

culture of this land to create a new

culture of peace for the future.

Celebrating our

20th Anniversary

I can think of many more – but too

many to mention in this article!

We will be holding two events this

summer (see adverts on opp. page)

The second ‘Soul of WoMen’

conference on Saturday 23rd June.

This is for Men and Women

‘How can we balance the masculine

and feminine qualities within

ourselves and take them out to our

communities and our world?’

And

20th International World Peace

Festival Sunday 24th June

Celebrating Community

Empowerment.

An event for the whole family –

celebrating our community and our

world.

We do hope that you can come to one

or both of these events.

Our website and facebook page

will be updated regularly with

latest information on these events.

Also information on Peace Poles,

Education, Flag Ceremonies and our

other activities.

Our gratitude to Sam Sparrow for

looking after our website for us.

Please get in touch if you would like to

know more.
