MASTER PILLAR AWARD
Duane Dellecker had two reasons to celebrate at a special Masonic
event November 9. On that night he was honored with the Master Pillar
Award and it was he and Lady Barbara’s 34th wedding anniversary.
The award was presented by S. Eugene Herritt, R.W Grand Master
of Pennsylvania at Slatington Lodge’s 150 Anniversary event at Blue
Mountain Resort.
The Master Pillar award is given to Master Masons who have been Past
Masters and have demonstrated outstanding proficiency in leadership,
mentoring, fellowship, learning, and Masonic history. They must also
have gone through all the chairs in their lodge. In Duane’s case, he’s been
Worshipful Master of two lodges, Slatington No. 440 and Lehighton No.
621. He was WM of Lehighton twice.
Having been Worshipful Master three times, Duane has gained a
wealth of experience. For instance,
being proficient in all three degrees, he
has presided over 100 conferrals and
counting.

After a delicious
meal, several gift
presentations were
made including a gift
from the Aides Ladies.
Entertainment was

Duane has many accomplishments to be proud in his Masonic career but he feels that mentoring
is one of the most rewarding activities a Mason can participate in. And anyone who is familiar
with Duane’s Masonic work knows that he excels in fund raising. He is currently the Grand
Lodge Representative for Slatington Lodge. He will receive his 25-year pin in early 2020.
Duane became a Shriner in 2000. He is a past president and one of the founding members of
the Carbon County Shrine Club. In 2017 he got in line and currently serves as Oriental Guide.
He’s looking forward to moving up the line to Potentate in 2023.
