from the editor Hey 2020! We are ready!!! Usually I hear people say, “this is the year that I…,” or “this year my resolution is…,” but what I’ve been hearing lately from my friends and colleagues is more of a commitment to a decade versus a year. More people seem to be making long term goals – and it makes me wonder if it’s because this year ends in an even round number…Me, well, I don’t believe in resolutions (too easy to break), so I try to set goals for the year and see how that goes. This year Super Bowl LIV is hosted in Miami which is exciting! Along with the big game come big pre-game parties and events! Our City By The Sea is not to be left out! The 7th annual Delray Beach Fashion Week is January 29th through February 2nd and there are many events throughout the day and evening to keep you going – including a Super Bowl watch party! For more information read Delray Under $50 (some of the events are FREE!) and Locals Only. Reggie Dobard Sr. is our January City Person. Diane Feen calls him a ‘Treasure’ and she couldn’t be more right…He was a teacher at Atlantic High School for 37 years, but even more importantly he has been caring for our community for over 55 years!!! So much so that in 2017 we named the gym basketball court at Pompey Park after him. He is a mentor to everyone he meets.
