Cystic Fibrosis Launches New Dinner Dance in Delray Beach<br />
Roses Evening on the <strong>Ave</strong> was<br />
65 held Friday, November 15, at Old<br />
School Square in Delray Beach and raised<br />
more than $92,000 for Cystic Fibrosis<br />
Foundation.<br />
Art and fashion were featured at this<br />
event held in The Fieldhouse and included<br />
a cocktail reception, dinner, live music<br />
and auction. Justin Vallee, an artist from<br />
Wynwood district, Miami, and local artist<br />
Rebecca Loveless were on hand creating<br />
canvases on site while models wandered<br />
the room in fashions by Kaushal Vishukumar<br />
of Miami.<br />
Serving as youth ambassador is Reilly<br />
Gardner, age 4, who was diagnosed with<br />
cystic fibrosis (CF) as a newborn. CF is a<br />
complex, genetic disease that impacts the<br />
lungs and digestive system and progressively<br />
limits the ability to breathe. While<br />
life expectancy has greatly improved<br />
from the 1950’s and age five to a current<br />
median survival age of 41, much needs<br />
to be done to improve the lives of people<br />
with CF until there is a cure through the<br />
support of research, drug development<br />
and specialized care.<br />
