child will discover a summer of exploration, develop new 

friendships and learn new skills. You’ll find camps designed 

to engage all ages from your curious preschooler to your 

independent teen. 

BEFORE & AFTER 

CAMP TIME 

Have to get to work early or stuck at 

work and need the safety of a great 

environment? 

Extended time is available for your 

child at NO ADDITIONAL COST from 

7-9 am and 4-6 pm. The Y’s Before 

and After Camp Time provides a 

range of activities to keep your child 

safe, active and having fun. 

SWIMMING 

Campers enjoy a recreational swim 

period each day (except some field 

trip days), weather permitting. 

Trained Y lifeguards conduct swim 

tests for all campers prior to 

swimming each Monday. 

ADD-ON 

SWIM LESSONS 

Those attending camp at the 

Jennersville YMCA have the 

opportunity to register for swim 

lessons during after camp time. 

Lessons are offered for red and yellow 

band swimmers and are aimed at helping 

them achieve their green swim band.

after your registration is completed. 

REGISTRATION POLICIES 

• A YMCA membership is not required to 

register for camp. However, those who 

maintain a YMCA membership at the 

time of registration through the end of a 

camp session receive the member rate. If 

the membership is not maintained during 

this period, the rate will be adjusted to 

the non-member rate. No changes to 

rates will be made if a YMCA membership 

has been started AFTER the camp 

registration has been processed. 

• Registration for each camp must 

be submitted by 10 pm the previous 

Wednesday. A late fee of $50 will be 

applied on registrations after that 

deadline. 

• A camp deposit of $35 per child per week is 

due at the time of registration. Deposits are 

non-refundable and non-transferable and 

are subtracted from your weekly rate. 

Please note, the deposit cannot be 

transferred to another session. 

• The remaining balance will be processed 

two Sundays prior to the camp start date. 

Payments must be made through weekly 

automated drafts or in-full at the time of 

registration. You may pay earlier by 

contacting the branch to set up another 

payment. Camp payments are not able to 

be split between two or more payers. 

• No refunds are available within two weeks 

of the start of the session. 

• Families who receive Child Care Works (CCW) 

funding are required to pay a $10 per camper 

per week fee in addition to their weekly co-pay. 

• Families with two or more children signing up 

for the same week receive 10% off the lowest 

weekly fee (restrictions apply). Discount can 

only be applied during registration in a YMCA 

branch. Discount is not able to be combined 

with financial assistance and/or staff discounts. 

• Those applying the sibling discount and/ 

or CCW funds must register in branch. 

Online registration is not available for 

those requests.

PICK UP ON TIME! 

The camp day ends at 6 pm at the 

YMCA. If you are going to be late 

picking up your child, please arrange 

to have an authorized pick-up 

person arrive by 6 pm or call the Y 

to inform staff. 

Campers who are repeatedly picked 

up late from extended camp time 

may lose access to the program and 

parents will be required to pick up 

their child(ren) at the end of the 

regular camp day.

PATHFINDERS, TRAILBLAZERS & RANGERS 

Weekly, June 8-August 28 

9 am-4 pm (full-day) 

ALL campers will participate in daily/weekly activities including:

Pathfinder Campers (completed grades K-1) 

Campers in this youngest unit will also participate in Safety Around Water training 

and enjoy an onsite visitor presentation weekly. 

Trailblazer Campers (completed grades 2-3) 

In addition to the daily activities, Trailblazers will also participate in weekly field trips. 

Ranger Campers (completed grades 4-5) 

Rangers will have periods during the week where they can select more specialized 

activities that interest them in the areas of sports, the arts and technology. 

Additionally, Rangers will participate in weekly field trips as well as archery. 

These campers will have more time to enjoy with their friends.

WEEKLY THEMES FOR CAMP CHIPPEWA 

Pre-Week - June 8-12: Wild West Frontier 

Howdy partner! Head west along the Oregon Trail as your wagon of explorers 

forges its way across rivers, through canyons and into the wilderness! Along 

the way we might encounter outlaws, gold miners and wild animals! 

Week 1 - June 15-19: Blast from the Past 

It's time to go RETRO! Come have a totally groovy trip through the decades! 

Each day focuses on a different era as we learn about popular trends, games 

and music from the past! 

Week 2 - June 22-26: Under the Sea 

Hop in the submarine and dive down to the ocean depths to explore the world of 

mermaids, lost sunken cities and amazing sea life! 

Week 3 - June 29-July 3: School Of Wizardry 

Muggles are invited to hop on the train to Hogwarts for a high-flying adventure 

with magical classes, fantastic beasts, house competitions, quidditch and more! 

Week 4 - July 6-10: Power of the Force 

Hit the hyper-drive and lock in your tractor beam on this adventure, a long time 

ago in a galaxy far, far away! Travel to distant planets and meet aliens, droids 

and Jedi knights while escaping from Sith lords and troopers! 

Week 5 - July 13-17: Summer Olympics 

The torch has arrived at camp and countries from around the world compete 

in traditional and wacky events to celebrate this summer's Olympics! 

Week 6 - July 20-24: Holiday Week 

Let's celebrate! The week's adventures include searching for the lucky 

leprechaun, countdown to the ball drop, Easter egg hunts, Halloween costumes 

and learning about the many different holidays from around the world! 

Week 7 - July 27-31: A Pirate's Life 

Prepare to set sail and raise the Jolly Roger as we take to the high seas in 

search of glory and hidden treasure. This swashbuckling adventure will cross 

paths with buccaneers, sea creatures and the scurviest scallywags around. 

Week 8 - August 3-7: Splish Splash 

Let's cannonball into a week of water fun! Come and enjoy a week of wet 'n 

wild water activities, slip and slides, water hoses, water balloons and more! 

Week 9 - August 10-14: Jungle Safari 

Discover the wonders of the animal world as we travel deep into the jungle, 

zip across the Sahara and even explore some creatures native to our area. 

Week 10 - August 17-21: Medieval Kingdom 

Welcome to a time of kings and queens, knights and princesses, dragons and magical 

creatures, where adventures await over the moat and beyond the castle walls. 

Week 11 - August 24-28: Who Dunnit?!? 

Using their powers of observation and deductive reasoning, campers search 

for clues as teams to solve. "The Crime of the Century" with the detective team!

Each day campers are tasked with completing a mission. Campers receive 

directions and tools to solve problems and compete in a week long

Is your camper ready to have a blast and get wet doing so? Campers are 

immersed in aquatic activities, games and challenges throughout the week. 

Campers must be comfortable in the water and ready to swim every day. 

NOT for beginner swimmers. Camp includes a field trip to Jungle Jim’s Water 

Park. (Campers must be a YMCA green band to go on the field trip.) Financial

Great for campers who love the water, the Jr. Lifeguard Camp 

provides a solid foundation for becoming a lifeguard. Campers learn 

about aquatic safety and lifesaving skills while being mentored by 

experienced aquatic staff. Campers MUST be able to pass the YMCA 

green band swim test.

Put down your cell phones and turn off your video games. Summer days 

off from school just got a lot more fun. Adventure Camp gives campers 

countless opportunities to explore and engage in their interests or 

try new things. Camps will include field trips, service opportunities, 

swimming and unique activities and experiences geared toward getting 

middle schoolers engaged, energized and excited. It’s a great way to 

spend time with your friends while making new ones! 




LEADERS IN TRAINING (LIT) • Completed grades 9 and 10 


9 am-4 pm 

Includes an application and interview process. Rise to the challenge 

in Leaders in Training Camp and discover your leadership qualities. 

You will learn and develop the necessary camp skills needed to 

lead camper activities, work with younger children as well as group 

responsibility through activity planning. Participants will also learn skills 

to support their personal development and participate in some summer 

fun activities. You will have opportunities to shadow counselors and 

assist staff in camp programming. There will be plenty of time to hang 

out with friends – new and old. Come experience camp from a whole 

new perspective!

JUNIOR COUNSELOR • Completed grades 10 or 11 


Do you love working with kids in a camp setting? Here’s your chance to 

take a leadership role! Junior Counselors are assigned to a group and 

assist the Senior Counselors in leading and carrying out a variety of Day 

Camp programs. Junior Counselors help campers acquire feelings of high 

self-esteem, self-worth and competence in an outdoor setting. Previous 

experience in the LIT program or working with children is required. Candidates 

will be selected through an application and interview process. Contact the
