CELEBRATIONS 2019

November is considered as World Quality Month. 2 Thursday of November is
considered as world quality day. Organizations can choose any Thursday of the month
as quality Day and any week as quality week. The theme of this year is “100 years of
Quality”
As part of various quality improvement programmes, the Quality Department had

organized “World Quality Week Celebrations” from 18 to 22 November 2019.
The Quality Week Celebrations started with sessions on Quality Management System

standards on 18 and 19 November 2019 at C Block auditorium. A total of 4 sessions
were taken by Mr. Jiss Mathew, Sr. Quality Executive on these two days. One session
was taken in the morning and the other session was taken in the afternoon so that
maximum number of staff could attend the session after the shift change. A total of 604
staff attended the sessions. Electronic punching was taken during these sessions as
attendance.

Department wise audits were conducted by the Quality Team from 18 November 2019,
based on a predefined checklist and the best clinical critical, clinical non-critical,
clinical support; non-clinical departments/wards were selected out of it.

A quiz competition was conducted on 20 at 3.00 pm, the participation for which by our
staff is very much appreciated. 6 groups had participated in the Quiz Competition which
included a mixture of doctors, nurses and administrative staff.
Appreciated our consultants (a consultant and a junior doctor) for their active
participation in all the Quality related activities and also based on various aspects such
as Clinical documentation, Hand hygiene compliance, infection control practices and
medication safety practices etc. More over feedback from the nursing staff was
collected in identifying the Consultants and junior doctor. The winners were decided by
the director Dr. Anju Miriam Alex and Mrs. Gracy Mathai, Chief Executive Officer.
Identified quality champions in Various departments like best Nurse Critical Care, best
nurse ward, best CRE, Best ward secretary/IP Billing, best OP/IP attenders, best
Pharmacist, Best OT Nurse, Best Housekeeping/laundry staff, Best Security including
Fire & Safety staff, Best Engineering support staff, Best Operations staff. We have
invited nominations from the HODs and the final selection was done on personal
interviews by the director Dr. Anju Miriam Alex and Mrs. Gracy Mathai, Chief
Executive Officer.
