ALUMNIFROM THE DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI RELATIONSALEX AMMERMAN ’10On May 21st we welcomed 155 Colonels to the brotherhood that is the Alumni of CovingtonCatholic High School and witnessed the 95th graduation ceremony at CCH. These newgraduates will join the 8,806 Alumni to have received their diploma from CovingtonCatholic High School.As our Alumni base continues to grow, so does our current school. This was the largestgraduating class from CCH since 1973 and another amazing group of young men whoenter the next phase of their lives proud to be Colonels. While this school year put usthrough some of the highest highs and the lowest lows of our storied past, I am confidentthat we have grown stronger. Our graduates will continue the CovCath legacy asoutstanding members of our community, as well as caring sons, husbands, fathers andfriends. Ultimately, we will continue to educate young men in accordance with our missionstatement.With A Spirit That Will Not Die!Alex AmmermanAlex AmmermanDirector of Alumni RelationsA NOTE FROM THE ALUMNI BOARD CHAIRThe Alumni Department at CCH is proudto introduce a new group to the CovingtonCatholic Alumni community. This year anAlumni Association Board was introducedthanks to a few dedicated Alumni who cameup with the idea and presented it to theschool. The Board and it’s members will serveas an extension of the Alumni Departmentat CCH and will communicate and engagewith the Alumni in new ways. The Board iscompromised of CCH Alumni from differentclasses spanning from the Class of 1979 to2010 and will be led by it’s first President, TylerHolocher (‘09). ALUMNIFROM THE ALUMNI BOARD PRESIDENTT. TYLER HOLOCHER ’09CCH Alumni, Family and Friends,This past year, 21 alumni and faculty have launched theCovington Catholic Alumni Association. As our first fiscalyear approaches (July 1), I’d like to share the vision and goalsof the board.The association was formed to provide opportunities foralumni to stay involved and facilitate engagement in boththe school and community. After all, we’re all connectedby the experiences of going to CCH and growing up inNorthern Kentucky / Greater Cincinnati. We value the senseof tradition and pride that our alumni share. Our hope is tostreamline communication between the school and alumni,plan major events, and provide support to students currentlystudying at CCH. We’ll encourage alumni engagementthrough our class captains, retreats, activities and events.In order to accomplish our goals, we’ve created fivecommittees.Major Events (led by Jason Tate ‘01 & Ben Berger ‘97) – Thecommittee will help plan and improve upon the Colonel Stagand will also help with the Alumni Golf Outing, BasketballTournament and Northern Kentuckian of the Year Luncheon.Scholarship (led by Brian McDermott ‘00) – The committeeis responsible for awarding scholarships to outstandingstudents at CCH. The majority of what the AlumniAssociation raises will go toward the scholarship fund.Spiritual (led by Jordan Hoffer ‘11) – The committee willorganize an annual retreat and create a platform in whichalumni can share their community service projects withstudents and the CCH community.Class Captains (led by Shane Wiggins ‘06 & Steve Kolkmeier‘79) – The committee is tasked with delegating class captainsand keeping an up-to-date directory of all alumni.Marketing (led by Alex Ammerman ‘10) – The committeehelps to design the content for website, newsletters,and e-mails for Class Captains to share with their fellowclassmates.**Please note, each committee is open to all alumni. Pleasereach out to myself or Alex Ammerman if you have aninterest.**The board is excited about the initial momentum that hasbeen generated and the participation from alumni. As wecontinue to build the association from the ground up, pleaselet us know if you have ideas or suggestions.T. With the help of the Class CaptainCommittee, each graduating class from CCH will havea representative that will serve as their Class Captain.These Colonels will provide another point of contactbetween the Alumni Director, the Alumni Association,and each Alumni. We are extremely excited to havethe help of these great Colonels listed below. If youdo not see your graduation year listed, we are stilllooking to add someone to be a class Captain.
