City of Košice is an ideal place for sports and cultural activities, thanks
to which it was awarded the title of the European City of Sport in 2016.
Numerous outdoor and indoor sports grounds provide great training for both
small and big ones. Enjoy your time while climbing, water skiing or paintball.
In addition to sports, we will present honest craft beers produced directly
in Košice. Get to know the metropolis of Eastern Slovakia actively!
VISITING

PAINTBALL
Paintball is a game that will test several of your
skills. Speed to respond to situations during
the game that change every second and team spirit.
There are several places for this sporting activity
in Košice and the area of the former young pioneers
camp is ideal for exciting paintball fights.
WATER SKIING
The water-ski area with a ski lift is home
to the most successful Trixen water ski club
and many successful wakeboarders and wakeskaters.
Every year there are various competitions
and camps. You can also try this interesting sport
under the supervision of experienced trainers.
OPRE
Opre´ is the crafted cider of the Oprendek brothers
They produce a literally unique experience in their
factory. During the tour you will not only taste
it, but you will also get a great inspiration that
the creators of Opre‘ really are.
CLIMBING COURSE AT THE ROKODROM
The first and only one in Czechoslovakia - the artificial
training rock of the Čermeľ Valley has gained
this attribute. The mountaineering tradition in Košice
dates back to the beginning of the 20th century.
On the stone wall built by the local mountaineering
community in the 1980s, you will experience
the basics of climbing, abseiling, and climbing
on the rock. Fun and muscle ache guaranteed!

HORNÁD CRUISE
Hornád River springs at the eastern foot of the Kráľova
hoľa hill. You can navigate its various stretches
up to 145 km long, from the lightest one, where you
can be carried by the water stream, to the moderate
one, where you already need a good physical condition
to manage the rafting without problems. The river
flows through Slovak Paradise National Park, through
the Ružín water reservoir from where it continues
eastwards to Košice and further away to Hungary.
During the rafting between Malá Lodina and Košice,
you can admire the nature, enjoy the rafting
on the tide, but also adrenaline while passing through
the Tahanovská vlna wave.
TASTING THE CRAFT BEERS
Unique taste and golden color .. what is it?
Beer has an important place in Košice. The building
of the oldest pub in Slovakia and the fifth one in Europe,
one of the successful breweries is still standing. Today
there are six craft breweries in Košice, which offer
dozens of local beers. The local brewer will tell you
everything about making this beverage. You will taste
classic lagers, ipas, and local experiments.
