Homewood, can help provide great resources for you. Sterk Family Law Group has
selected this resource as their February Charity of the Month.
The Cancer Support Center helps anyone affected by cancer. Whether you have cancer
yourself or someone you know has been stricken by the disease, the Center can provide
tools to support you. The Center offers hope to people of all ages.
From the moment you contact The Cancer Support Center, their philosophy is that you are
a survivor. Several programs are available for you, and your loved ones including:
networking & support groups to meet others who are living with cancer; individual,
couples and family counseling; stress management & relaxation programming to reduce
anxiety; gentle exercise to get your body moving; special speakers to learn more about
your particular cancer; nutrition groups and individual consultations. A wig boutique is
also available at no charge for women who are dealing with hair loss due to
chemotherapy.
If you are a caregiver of a partner, family member, friend or co-worker who has recently
received a cancer diagnosis, their diagnosis impacts your life as well. The cancer journey
is emotional and takes a toll on the entire family. The Cancer Support Center provides
specific support for the Caregiver; including but not limited to support groups, yoga, an
informational library, and counseling.
The Center utilizes a five prong approach to provide services including Qualify of Life;
Body Image; Nutrition Counseling and Stress Management; Education and Networking;
and Fitness and Physical Wellness. Their vast resources help you and your loved ones
during this time of need and provide a safe place to obtain tools and support as you
navigate through this difficult journey.
The Cancer Support Center has many ways for you to get involved including being a
volunteer at the center, participating in their events, making donations to the center or for
the benefit of the center through their consignment shop. A wide range of signature events
are offered yearly including a gala, a Spring and Fall Walk of Hope and an annual golf
