Furthermore, other potential critiques regard the actual usefulness and
appropriateness of the information being provided through the app, to the
needs of the end-user. For example, the home screen only encompasses
weather information and ‘Things to Try’. This could be further expanded on in
my view, to provide functionality which will actively draw users into making
use of the app even more (such as providing relevant news for the end-user,
alongside access to control their smart devices right from the home screen –
providing the app with second screen functionality when paired with an echo,
and giving it a true, useful purpose for many users.
