Libraries are celebrating young people’s

power to change the future of our

planet in a special arts festival. A

chance for local children and schools

to get creative in an exciting, free

programme of events. Children will

meet and work with spoken word and

visual artists and create a legacy

artefact. Expect to be surprised,

inspired and entertained!

Collective, a new intergenerational

community initiative that matches

older people with skills to younger

families who need them the new,

has launched these monthly, free

events for local residents of

different generations to meet in

an informal way to discuss their

hobbies and interests. Families with

young children wanting to work with

older people outside of the monthly

events can also do so outside of these

days. From 2-4pm. FREE

29 March Family day The perfect

location for families to soak up the

atmosphere together as the iconic

sporting event takes to the Putney

riverside, with a big screen to watch the

BBC coverage live from start to finish.

and learn more about the crew who

served on board HMS Belfast during

Operation Neptune in 1944. Teams will

work together to find hidden messages,

predict the weather for sailing, discover

ship life and crack Morse code. 10am-

2pm, included in admission price.

4, 11 + 18 April Ship Shape The whole

family is invited to help keep the iconic

warship, HMS Belfast, in tip-top

condition. Find out what it takes to

conserve HMS Belfast and put your

learning into practice by working

through specially assigned tasks

searching for hungry insect pests and

caring for fabrics with specialised tools.

11am-1pm and 1.30-3.30pm, included
