FASCHANG ANNOUNCES €500,000
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
PARTNERSHIP
Maintenance software solutions provider Faschang
Service & Management has announced a €500,000 research
and development partnership to develop predictive
maintenance capabilities.
Faschang Service & Management is partnering with fellow
Austrian companies; Funk Fuchs who specialise in wireless
communication and data analysis experts cubido business
solutions to create a predictive maintenance solution that
fits into their existing omis 4.0 maintenance software.
The solution, which begins testing in May, uses sensors to
monitor equipment on site. The information is then sent into
the cloud and is interpreted using smart algorithms. If a
piece of equipment is not working correctly an alert is sent
to the omis user dashboard and technicians are contacted
automatically to reduce equipment downtime. The technology
can also predict when a piece of equipment might
stop working and instruct site operators to take particular
measures as well as scheduling planned maintenance.
The predictive maintenance solution is not a standalone
product and is instead, designed to be integrated into a
fuel station’s existing maintenance process. This eliminates
the need to develop an interface with third party solutions
providers, as all the information feeds in to the omis user
dashboard giving site operators a streamlined view of their
network. The sensors can also be used to upgrade older
equipment.
“Many companies are working on predictive maintenance
solutions but what distinguishes us from other providers is
we are an independent manufacture,” explained Dominik
Scheinecker, IT Project Manager and project coordinator at
Faschang Service & Management.
“Many suppliers are aiming to create predictive maintenance
software for their own equipment but we are
creating an interface that streamlines the information from
all the different solutions on the forecourt, allowing the site
operators to see all the information in one place. We are
not alone in the market but we want to approach it in a
different way,” he added.
In the first phase of the project the partnership is focusing
on car wash, refrigeration and in store air conditioning.
“We are initially testing the product across select equipment,
based on our customers needs. We will begin testing
in May and from there we will continue to develop the product
to include other areas of the fuel station,” explained
Dominik.
The pilot phase of the project will be launched at a site in
Germany in May with further pilot locations added later this
year.
