Award winner in the hit Purlie Broadway musical. Decades ago, I saw my first Broadway<br />

Specifically, our empowerment magazine focuses on introducing or, again,<br />

familiarizing NYGB readers objectively with trail-blazing, trend-setting persons, soon<br />

fulfilling our quest for more dynamic well distributed <strong>Black</strong> magazines. To such degree,<br />

motivating <strong>Black</strong> Generation X'ers, millennials <strong>and</strong> others to drop the N word from their<br />

spoken vocabulary. Re-invigorating our homes, job sites, hotels, spas. mega drug stores<br />

<strong>and</strong> supermarkets with more <strong>Black</strong> magazines will multiply <strong>and</strong> adequately confirm that<br />

our combined U.S. net worth for <strong>Black</strong> Americans, is more than just 4%, immeasurably<br />

higher with our 12-14% U.S. population.<br />

Contrary racist statistics will minimize when more visible <strong>Black</strong> media, sets the record<br />

straight. Since the 19th Century, America's <strong>Black</strong> Press assumed responsibility for<br />

motivating <strong>and</strong> leading <strong>Black</strong>s from slavery, initially advocated in Northern abolitionist<br />

newspapers. An influx of <strong>Black</strong> newspapers circulated in the U.S., at the start of the 20th<br />

Century, during that Jim Crow era, namely; the 110-year-old <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> Amsterdam <strong>New</strong>s,<br />

The Chicago Defender, Detroit Free, Philadelphia Courier, etc., until Civil Rights became<br />

law. The Negro Digest <strong>and</strong> <strong>Black</strong> World arrived during the late 1930s, followed by Ebony<br />

<strong>and</strong> Jet Magazines in the 1950s. During the 1970s Encore, Essence, <strong>Black</strong> Enterprise<br />

Magazines, plus NYCs Daily Challenge, The <strong>Black</strong> American, Big Red/Beacon, Caribbean<br />

<strong>New</strong>s, <strong>and</strong> <strong>New</strong> Jersey's Forum newspapers, etc, plus hundreds of <strong>Black</strong> news/ journals<br />

nationwide. The 1980's Chocolate Singles, Upscale, Sister-to-Sister, <strong>Black</strong> Sports <strong>and</strong><br />

1990's <strong>Black</strong> Elegance, Gladiator, Vibes <strong>and</strong> haircare <strong>and</strong> other Hip Hop media<br />

paradigms, signified the viability of <strong>Black</strong> is Beautiful; Not Pitiful. Help advocate the need<br />

for more <strong>Black</strong> on-line <strong>and</strong> print media. Our distribution plan is ready for expansion.<br />
