America's oldest <strong>Black</strong> family's descendant of the<br />

Qu<strong>and</strong>er family's documentary film in progress<br />

83-year old Ernestine Shepherd<br />

Ten years ago, since Ernestine Shephard's fait accompli as<br />

Guiness World Book's oldest female Body Builder, she's still<br />

stunning at 83, to such degree as our 21st Century Queen Body<br />

Builder. Though NYGB spoke with her two years ago, recently<br />

Leslie Magnum, Young at Heart Wellness, LLC instructor<br />

trainer explained how Shepherd's physical fitness acclaim<br />

includes being among his 55 to 98 year old students at Atlanta's<br />

QLS, the largest fitness center in the U.S. Magnum the<br />

linguist,whose mastery of 10 languages attracts <strong>and</strong> enable his<br />

multi-cultural female seniors to underst<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> instructions<br />

revealed that Ernestine began practicing body building physical<br />

fitness during her 50's.<br />

Currently on tours demonstrating how her strict 3 am, wake<br />

up regimen marks the beginning of her daily vigorous<br />

stretching, calisthenics <strong>and</strong> more. As a long-time Baltimore,<br />

MD resident she <strong>and</strong> noted trainer Yhanni Shomburge, were<br />

special guests VIPs, who led the event's 10 Again workout's<br />

rare large exposition of seniors demonstrating wholesome<br />

strength, capability <strong>and</strong> endurance. Many of those toned <strong>and</strong><br />

physically fit seniors excelled.<br />

mom, the late Mrs. Rosetta Tyus. Mrs. Kinsey<br />

<strong>and</strong> her late husb<strong>and</strong> Mr. Earl Kinsey bore 13<br />
