High Blood Sugar Levels

Can Be Normalized

The glucose levels in the human

blood do increase due to several

factors. Such increments are responsible

for various types of abnormal

behavior of the human body.

This type of disorder has been increasing

due to life style factors

such as food habits, stress levels,

etc. The researchers could not invent

any medicine to cure the disorder

yet!. The transformation of life

style can reverse the disorder.

Consuming unprocessed foods is

one of the most important steps to

control the increasing blood glucose

levels. The dark colored vegetables

are highly helpful. The patients

need to take foods rich in fiber

and proteins. Among the fruits, its

advised to avoid the excessive consumption

of mango, banana, sapota,

etc which do contain excessive

amounts of sugar. The green leafy

vegetables, bitter gourd, brinjal,

etc need to be consumed everyday.

Shifting to the consumption of

brown rice from white rice is vital in

controlling the above said disorder.

Whole wheat bread, oats, cooked

vegetables, boiled eggs, nuts,

salads, etc need to be taken as a

break fast.

The symptoms are variable from

person to person depending upon

several biological factors. But the

general symptoms of high blood

sugar levels include, frequent urination

especially during the nights,

dry mouth, excessive thirst, etc. In

some patients, the symptoms cannot

appear, hence occasional blood

sugar diagnosis is the only way to

know the status of one’s blood

sugar levels. In the initial stages of

the disorder, its ideal to avoid consumption

of any drugs. Physical exercise,

alteration of food habits, etc

can bring the blood sugar levels to

normal range!. But the uncontrolled

high blood sugar levels will damage

several organs such as the eyes,

heart, kidneys, etc. The damage

caused does depend upon several

factors and is variable from person

to person. The rich people can afford

expensive foods such as eggs,

vegetables, fruits, etc.

For the poor people there are some

simple home remedies to control the

increasing blood sugar levels in the

blood. Reduction of weight is one of

the best remedies. obesity is one of

the major causes of several life style

diseases. The neem leaves should

be boiled for about twenty minutes,

and then filtered to be consumed

everyday for about a week depending

upon the sugar levels. Similarly,

fenugreek should be soaked

throughout the night, and can be

taken with empty stomach early in

the morning. Consumption of millets

too is advised. The major remedy is

to transform the life style.

5 Tips To Reduce Sodium In The Diet

Sodium is an essential mineral you must

get from the food you eat in order for

your body to function. Sodium not only

helps in keeping the fluid balance maintained

in the body but it also helps in

nerve and muscle function. The human

body regulates how much sodium it contains

depending upon the levels. If the

sodium levels in the body are too high,

one gets thirsty and drinks water. Along

with that the kidneys speed up the process

of throwing the excess sodium out

of the body. Keeping the intake of sodium

in check should always be a part of

a healthy eating plan as well as weight

loss programs.

What is the difference between

sodium and salt?

Sodium is a component of the common

salt that we consume in foods. Salt is a

chemical compound made up of 40 % of

sodium and 60% of chloride and is by far

the biggest dietary contributor of sodium.

Different varieties of salt are available

but the composition of the salt remains

the same. One teaspoon of salt contains

2300 milligrams of sodium. However, it

is also naturally found in many foods -

although in much lesser amounts than

the foods in which salt is added. Today,

then processed and packaged foods

are largely the contributors of the high

sodium levels in the diet.

How much sodium is needed

by a person?

The American Heart Association recommends

not more than 2300 milligrams

of sodium per day (1 teaspoon of salt).

However, the ideal limit as per them is no

more than 1500 milligrams per day. Most

of us eat more than the recommended

limit. Keeping the intake of sodium within

recommended levels is a part of a balanced

and healthy eating diet.

Why does sodium need to be

restricted?

When there is more sodium than required

by the body, the kidneys flush

the excess by making more urine. When

kidneys are not able to flush out the excess

sodium it accumulates in fluid in

between the cells. Sodium pulls extra

water and increases the volume of the

fluid and blood. As the blood volume

increases the heart has to work harder

and also puts a pressure on the blood

vessels. Over a period of time this can

stiffen the blood vessels leading to hypertension

(high blood pressure), heart

attack, stroke or heart failure. High blood

pressure can also damage the kidneys

leading to kidney failure over a period of

time.

Hypertension has become a lifestyle disease

today. One in three adult Indians

suffers from hypertension today. And

what’s more - even children can develop

it. A sedentary lifestyle with little or no

physical activity coupled with unhealthy

eating patterns are major contributors

for hypertension. Most people today are

unaware that they suffer from hypertension

(a repeatedly elevated blood pressure

130/80 mm of Hg).

How do I cut back on sodium?

To watch your sodium intake here are a

few tips to follow:

Avoid processed and packaged

foods: Canned, processed, and frozen

foods contain high amount of sodium

in them. Avoid sauces, pickles, mayonnaise,

ready to eat soups, canned vegetables,

processed cheese and breads

as these foods contain hidden sodium in

them. Buy unsalted nuts or seeds. Compare

the nutritional labels of the product

you are buying with low sodium content

per serving. If a nutritional label says sodium

free, light sodium, low sodium or

reduced sodium it means the following:

a sodium free food should contain less

than 5 milligrams sodium per serving,

light means 50 percent less sodium than

the regular version, reduced sodium

means 25 percent less sodium than the

regular version. Hence, make it a habit

to read the nutritional labels when purchasing

the food to avoid the high sodium

intake consequences.

Cooking: While preparing or cooking

the food use onions, garlic, lemon juice,

herbs, spices, vinegar in place of extra

salt to enhance the taste of food. Avoid

usage of salt while cooking rice, rotis,

parathas, pasta etc. Grilling, sautéing,

and roasting cooking techniques bring

out the natural flavor of the food and

hence will reduce the need to add salt.

Incorporating potassium rich foods like

bananas, tomatoes, oranges, potatoes

and sweet potatoes, white beans, will

help to reduce the effect of sodium and

also help in reducing the blood pressure.

Be mindful of what you order at restaurants:

At restaurants ask if the dishes

you are ordering can be made using

minimum salt. Request for a salad with

the dressing on the side as the dressings

contain high sodium content. Avoid

foods that contain soy sauce, ketchup,

mustard etc. Do not add extra salt to

the dish you have ordered. While eating

pizza opt for less cheese, pepperoni or

barbeque sauce, etc. Eat pasta with red

sauce and vegetables instead of creamy

cheese, bacon or sausage. In sandwiches,

avoid the filling with cheese, bacon,

ham, mayonnaise etc. Go for vegetable

and avocado based fillings. Avoid eating

Chinese meals as they contain lot of

sodium in them.

Concentrate on fruits and vegetables:

Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables as they

are very low in sodium. Avoid canned or

frozen fruits and vegetables. Before buying

the canned variety look for no salt

added version or reduced salt version.

Use the sodium allowance wisely:

Instead of spending your sodium allowance

on salty snacks and heavily processed

foods, use small amounts of salt

to enhance the flavor of foods like whole

grains, legumes, and other healthy ingredients.

Needing the extra salt in your food is

an acquired taste. It takes a few weeks

to get accustomed to eating foods with

less salt in it. Once your taste has been

set for low salt in the food you will find

the fast foods and the processed foods

salty. The above tips may help to reduce

the intake of sodium to prevent the hazardous

outcomes. High salt intake not

only leads to heart problems, high blood

pressure and kidney problems, it also increases

one’s chances of stomach cancer.

High salt intake may increase the

growth of Helicobacter pylori a bacterium

that causes inflammation and stomach

ulcers leading to stomach cancer. A

nutritionist in Mumbai would be the best

person or you may attend the weight

loss program to guide you on your daily

intake of sodium and how to reduce

sodium in your diet as well. If children

are habituated to eating a lot of salt in

the diet a child nutritionist with her counselling

skills would be the best person to

help the child rid of this habit.

Your Financial Checklist of Things to Do When You Retire

You’ve finally made it to retirement

age! Congratulations! Now it’s time to

take a few smart financial steps so you

can relax and enjoy your new-found

freedom!

Your financial checklist of things to

do when you retire

Those early days after retirement can

be much more complicated than you

might have thought. You had the impression

that the day you handed

back the keys to the office would be

filled with carefree exhilaration, but it’s

crucial to have a financial plan to make

sure your later years are going to be as

enjoyable as you always wished them

to be.

Celebrate!

Of course, you deserve to celebrate a

little. Perhaps throw a party for family

and friends and go away for a week

or two’s vacation to do whatever you

want.

But when you’ve finished with all that,

here are a few things you need to do, if

you didn’t do them already before your

last day at work.

Check your pension and make sure

you have all your documents in order

Your steady paychecks have finished

so your main source of income is going

to be your pension payment every

month. Make sure you know exactly

how much you’re going to receive

every month because that’s all there

is and that you have all those important

documents well organized. Any

lump sums you’ve received on retiring

should be stashed away and invested

and not just thrown into the current account

because they have a tendency

to disappear more quickly than you

can imagine! More about how to invest

this money later on.

Find out about all those freebies and

discounts

Depending on which country you live

in, there may be loads of free things or

discounts you can take advantage of.

These may include public transport,

cinema tickets, restaurant meals, museum

entrance fees etc etc. Always

ask before you pay anywhere and always

have your ID with you so you can

prove your age. Find out about certain

days and times when these discounts

apply and make the most of them!

Check your tax situation

In most countries, pensions are taxable

income. Talk to a good tax advisor and

understand how much tax you’re going

to have to pay so you don’t get a nasty

surprise at the end of the tax year.

Check your health insurance and social

security coverage

This is, unfortunately, going to become

increasingly important as you get older.

If you have a good public health

system in your country this might be

enough, but if you need private health

insurance get a good deal now while

you’re still healthy and don’t wait until

you have problems when it’ll cost you

a lot more.

Mortgage

Hopefully, you’ve paid your mortgage

off a long time ago, but if you still have

a mortgage to pay every month, there’s

a temptation to pay it all off when you

retire. However, mortgages are generally

the cheapest loan you have and

the interest you pay is probably deductible

against your pension income,

so it might be an idea to keep your

mortgage going to reduce your taxes.

Check all this out with your tax advisor

before doing anything rash.

Make a budget

If you’ve received a lump sum, it’s

easy to think you’re suddenly rich but

that money is going to have to last you

(hopefully) a long time. Make a budget

based on your regular monthly pension

income and even try to save a bit out

of that every month so you can afford a

few vacations from time to time. Don’t

use your savings for your monthly expenses.

Bear in mind that now you

have more time on your hands you

might find that your monthly expenditure

goes up instead of down. It’s easy

to get into a routine of going out more,

eating out more and just generally

spending more so make a budget and

stick to it.

Investments

This is a much talked-about subject.

Some people swear by investing in

low-risk bonds which might pay about

3-4% a year before tax, or in dividend-oriented

shares which might pay

about the same. Other people say that,

just because you’ve retired, it doesn’t

mean you shouldn’t invest in growth

shares which might not pay a dividend

but which might go up nicely. After all,

most people’s retirement horizon could

be 20-30 years or more. This is a personal

decision but it might be an idea

to have a blend of investments. It can

also be an idea to have a rental property

although as you get older you might

not have the energy or appetite for all

the management that this entails.

Don’t give large amounts of money

to your children

If you’re in your sixties, the chances

are that your children are going

through the most stressful part of their

lives. They probably have a large mortgage,

young children, their careers

are just getting started and they’re

probably short of money. You may be

sitting on a tidy amount of money in the

bank and there’s a big temptation to

be generous. They might even ask you

for money. Be very careful in this respect

because when you get short are

they really going to help you out? The

biggest favor you can do them is to be

financially independent yourself so you

won’t rely on them in the future.

Make your home retirement-friendly

Think ahead and consider down-sizing

to save on your monthly expenses. Perhaps

move to a house with fewer stairs

or to an area where you don’t need a

car. There’s no obligation to keep running

the large family home for the few

occasions when everyone comes to

stay and where you’re still storing your

children’s junk that’s been in the attic

for the last 20 years. If you’re going to

travel more, it’s probably better to live

in an apartment which will be more secure

while you’re away and the costs

will be lower and more predictable every

month.

Start a small business

If you’re in good health, there’s no reason

you can’t start your own small business.

This could be good fun, it’ll keep

you busy and it’ll bring in some extra

income which will always be useful.

DISCOVER THE EXERCISE HORMONE IRISIN

Exciting new research has proven

the existence of a hormone

that seems to increase during exercise

and does amazing things

for our health and metabolism.

Called the “exercise hormone,”

this muscle hormone was discovered

by scientists at Dana-Farber

Cancer Institute. Because

it’s a chemical messenger it was

named Irisin after a messenger

Goddess. Although it’s existence

has been hotly debated in recent

years, Harvard scientists, studying

Irisin announced not long ago

that the “data provided unequivocally

demonstrates that human

Irisin exists.”

Irisin, normally present as part of

a larger protein in the muscles

cell’s outer membrane, lies dormant

and inactive until released.

Exercise, and other factors help

split this protein, releasing Irisin

in the process.

So, now we know that Irisin exists

and we also know that when we

exercise our body makes more

of it.

Why is this important? What

does this hormone act on once

we start pumping blood and

our heart rate goes up?

It seems that the powerhouse hormone

Irisin has the unique ability

to it turn white fat into brown fat.

White fat stores energy (calories)

while brown fat is better for

us because it’s more involved in

burning energy (increases our

metabolism) rather than storing

it. Brown fat intrigues scientists

because it physically resembles

muscle more than fat and plays a

major role in maintaining normal

weight. It also acts and behaves

more like muscle than fat, which

likely explains it’s ability to burn

fat so efficiently.

Slender people have more brown

fat than obese people. Younger

people have more brown fat than

seniors and those with normal

blood sugar levels enjoy the benefits

of more brown fat than people

with high blood sugar.

Obesity, a disorder of fat accumulation,

is a real problem in

the world today. It is the result of

over-eating and under exercising.

Increased Irisin levels help to

increase glucose tolerance and

reduce insulin resistance, suggesting

it may be a real breakthrough

in treating diabetes.

But, the benefits of this new, exciting

“exercise” hormone don’t

stop there. Irisin offers other valuable

benefits, such as triggering

the growth of new brain neurons

and activating genes involved in

memory retention and learning. It

also acts directly on bone, promoting

its formation by increasing

bone mineral density which

in turn helps with Osteoporosis.

All these things are valuable and

contribute to our overall health.

But another, super exciting discovery

swirling around Irisin is

how it affects our telomeres. It

seems that high Irisin levels are

directly associated with lengthening

our telomeres! The longer

our telomeres, (telomere shortening

is a genetic marker of aging)

the younger and healthier

our body is! This translates to us

being less prone to age related

illnesses and diseases such as

cancer, dementia and heart disease.

With so much controversy surrounding

the discovery of Irisin, it

will be a while before the whole

scientific community comes on

board to discover how to harness

the power of this unique

hormone. However, that doesn’t

mean we have to put our health

on hold until then.

If we want to enjoy the benefits of

Irisin - feeling more fabulous and

younger than we currently do, we

must allow this hormone to work

its magic now.

Since we already know that exercise

increases the amount of

Irisin in our bodies, exercising

is the perfect place to start. It is,

without doubt, the best way to

boost our irisin levels. However,

not all exercise is created equal.

Not surprisingly, a recent scientific

discovery published in 2014,

found that high-intensity exercise

increases Irisin levels better

than low-intensity exercise which

means it must challenge the

body to trigger its release.

Researchers have also discovered

that rats that swam daily

but were fed a high-fat diet still

lost weight and suspect it is due

to Irisin. Cold temperatures are

another factor. It seems that the

shivering we do when exposed

to chilly temperatures increases

Irisin, even rivaling the results of

those who exercised regularly.

Irisin is a health-boosting,

fat-burning, sensitizing hormone

empowered to provide us with

many health benefits. It is empowered

to reduce body weight,

boost energy expenditure, and

improve diet-induced insulin resistance.

It’s time to chill down the house,

head to the gym and enjoy

healthy fats. Our health, weight

and longevity will all benefit.

Doing Everything Yourself

Won’t Lead To Success

One of the biggest mistakes many entrepreneurs

make is doing everything themselves.

To solve this, they must hire and

train the right employees, but this is an

expensive venture. The other option is to

outsource and leverage strategic business

partners.

Gaining new customers is one of the reasons

for forming partnerships. But a good

partnership will also give your business

access to new products, a new market,

block competitors and increase customer

loyalty.

The key to building successful partnerships

is to make sure they are built on

trust, commitment, collaboration, and

communication.

Here are five reasons why strategic partnerships

are important for business success

and happiness:

1. Attract New Customers and Expand

Market Coverage

The most popular reason for venturing into

partnerships is access to new customers

and markets. By forming a strategic partnership,

businesses can serve larger territories

without investing more infrastructure

or expanding their distribution network.

For example, a coffee delivery service can

partner with an office supply company to

deliver office supplies on their regular

route in exchange for a presence in the

office supply company’s physical stores.

Both companies will attract new customers

and their market territories will expand

without adding new stores or routes. This

arrangement will offer their customers

more value.

2. Overcome Business Fears

At some point, many entrepreneurs fear

change and they worry about its impact

on their businesses. These changes can

either be market-driven, industry-specific,

or regulatory.

Implementing business solutions with the

help of a strategic partner can help reduce

the impact of changes that might

inhibit your business growth.

3. Strategic Partnerships Offer Your

Business a Competitive Edge

Working with a partner with a win-win approach

can give your business the boost it

needs to beat its competitors. If you work

totally on your own, you risk your company’s

success becoming stagnant. And remember,

a poorly thought-out partnership

can impact your business negatively.

4. Broaden Your Product and Service

Offerings

If you already have an existing customer

base and you’d like to expand your product

line, you benefit by aligning yourself

with a firm that offers complementary

products.

For example, if you offer audio visual services,

you can partner with a company

that provides computer services. Here

each company has its own products, systems,

and suppliers. But they have similar

customer bases. By pooling your resources

together and cross-training service and

sales personnel, you can improve your

product lines with minimal investment.

5. Strengthen Weaker Aspects of Your

Business

It’s clear that the benefits of strategic partnerships

are many and diverse. A meaningful

partnership can strengthen weaker

aspects of your business, enabling you

to grow and expand to an extent which

would have been impossible on your own.

Outsourcing is one of the most cost-efficient

ways to grow your business. It’s how

the biggest and most profitable businesses

in the world generate the wealth and

freedom their owners enjoy.

What Is CBD Oil?

In this article, we are going to find

out what CBD is and how it can

work for your benefit. In June 2018,

The Food and Drug Administration

(FDA) allowed the use of CBD oil

for the treatment of 2 types of epilepsy.

So, it can be said that CBD

does work as far as the treatment

of some specific conditions or diseases

is concerned. Let’s find out

more.

What is CBD oil?

CBD is on the list of several compounds

called cannabinoids

found in the cannabis plant. Many

research studies have been done

to find out different therapeutic

uses of this oil.

Basically, CBD oil contains concentrated

form of CBD. However,

it’s important to keep in mind that

the concentrations and their uses

vary. So, you may want to consult

an expert before using CBD for

your condition.

Is CBD marijuana?

In cannabis, the best-known

compound is delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol

aka THC, according

to most reports. And THC is the

most active part of marijuana. As a

matter of fact, marijuana has both

CBD and THC in it. And the effects

of both these compounds vary.

When smoked or used in cooking,

THC imparts a “high” effect. Actually,

THC tends to break down in

heat or when it enters the body.

On the other hand, CBD is not psychoactive,

which means it has no

effect on your state of mind when

consumed.

But CBD can create changes in

your body. In fact, according to

some research studies, it may

have many medical benefits as

well.

Where does it come from?

CBD is obtained from the cannabis

plant. Commonly, cannabis plant

is known as marijuana or hemp

based on the degree of THC. It’s

important to note that legal hemp

plants mustn’t contain more than

0.3% THC, according to Farm Bill.

Marijuana farmers have bred their

hemp plants to produce more THC

and many other compounds. However,

these farmers don’t modify

the plant in any way. These plants

are used to produce CBD oil.

How does it work?

All types of cannabinoids attach

to some specific receptors in your

body to create a special effect.

And the same applies to CBD as

well. Actually, your body produces

some types of cannabinoids automatically.

Also, it has two powerful

receptors for CBD: CB 2 receptors

and CB1 receptors.

As far as CB1 receptors are concerned,

they are found across your

body. However, many are found in

your brain as well. The ones found

in the brain help with memories,

appetite, thinking, mood, emotions,

pain, movement and many

other functions. And these are the

receptors THC attaches to. On the

other hand, CB2 receptors are

quite common in your immunity

system, and they have an impact

on pain and inflammation.

In the past, researchers believed

that CBD2 receptors are the receptors

that CBD attaches to, but

now they know that CBD won’t

attach to any of the receptors. In

fact, it looks like it helps your body

get better use of its own cannabinoids.

Common Startup Mistakes You Must Avoid

Thousands of startups are launched

every year and they do it with enthusiasm

and flair, but there are also plenty

that fail and not with so many reasons.

Almost all of these startups have some

common reasons that contribute to their

failure even before they have picked

up properly. Yes, there are a zillion

things that could go wrong and it is vital

for businesses to avoid falling into

the same trap over and over again. So,

what mistakes should a startup avoid?

Some of the common ones are outlined

below:

Not prepping for it

Would you participate in a competition

without some preparation and practice?

No, you wouldn’t. Then why start

a business this way? You need some

prelaunch training to get you all warmed

up because you have to have skills and

knowledge to get started. Bear in mind

that any startup requires focus, hard

work, concentration and dedication

from its entrepreneurs and you have to

be ready to provide all that instead of

just deciding to jump in.

Mixing a business with products

One of the biggest mistakes that most

startups make is not thinking beyond

the product. They have a product that

can solve a problem and that’s all they

concentrate on. However, if a startup

wishes to survive in the long term, it

needs to offer its customers something

that will have them coming back for it

again and again. Therefore, you need

to think of potential revenue streams

after the product has been purchased

by customers. Think about longevity,

where the business will be in three to

five years, and this will help determine if

there is a business or not.

Not hiring experts

Another major blunder that startups

end up making is taking on everything.

It is not possible for an entrepreneur

to be good at everything. But, it is a

fact that every aspect of the business

needs to be dealt with expertly, especially

in tricky areas such as legal and

tax issues. If anything is structured in

the wrong way, it will eventually come

back to haunt you. Therefore, it is better

to hire experts for dealing with major issues.

It will cost, but it will definitely pay

off in the long run.

Not checking data

Just because you believe you will succeed

doesn’t mean that you actually

win. You actually have to crunch some

numbers, look at the market and do an

analysis to know if you can and will.

There needs to be proper and reliable

data that validates your idea as something

that can be profitable and viable.

When you have collected some data,

you can use it for creating milestones

or key performance indicators to check

exactly how your business is progressing.

Moving too quickly

One of the top reasons that startups fail

is because they simply move too fast. A

number of them are able to raise money

and when they have the cash, it is

spent on the wrong things. By the time

they figure out that it is a mistake, it is

often too late for them. What do they

usually spend on? The funds usually go

towards hiring people or marketing, but

the fact is that neither of these are necessary

for expansion. It is not a good

idea to start spending unless you have

a way to generate more.

Following the wrong idea

A lot of entrepreneurs who enter an

unfamiliar market or first-time entrepreneurs

often make the mistake of following

the wrong idea. They are so focused

on their idea that they don’t realize it is

failing. In this competitive market, you

cannot simply make decisions based

on gut; you have to have evidence to

back it up. You need to see exactly how

a product fits in the market and do an

experiment on what features or changes

attract customers to it.

Considering money the solution

Entrepreneurs who are struggling believe

that raising more capital can solve

their problems, but money is not the

solution for everything. A fundamental

issue cannot be solved with money because

you have to fix the problem first

and then get the money.

As long as these mistakes are avoided,

chances of startups failing are minimized.

Reasons You Should

Get Your Eyes Checked

Eyes aren’t just a window to your

soul, they could also reveal health

problems:

Hard to spot micro-bleeds in the

small vessels of your eyes could be

a sign of impending heart trouble

that only a trip to the eye doctor can

identify. Research shows otherwise

healthy people displaying these micro-bleeds

were 50 percent more

likely to develop an irregular heartbeat

- an early sign of potential heart

disease or stroke risk than those

without the eye issue.

Because your eyes’ vessels are affected

by hypertension or high levels

of inflammation, they can help

experts identify hidden health dangers.

An opthamologist can spot

these warning signs early.

Most people skip the appointment

if their vision is good, but here are

three more good reasons to schedule

a visit with an ophthalmologist as

opposed to an optometrist, who focuses

on vision issues.

Wider eye vessels signal possible

brain problems. Because your

brain’s vessels are similar in size,

function, and structure to your eyes’,

issues with your peepers’ veins can

be an early warning sign of cognitive

disorders like dementia.

Yellowing of the eyes is a tip-off of

liver diseases like hepatitis and cirrhosis.

The discoloration is the result

of your liver’s inability to filter out toxins

from your blood.

Different-sized pupils are a sign of a

possible brain tumor or stroke. Both

conditions can restrict oxygen or

blood flow to one of the pupils, causing

the size discrepancy.
