Jesus said, “Blessed are those who mourn for they
shall be comforted,” and in the same passage blesses
the meek, the poor, the merciful and those who hunger
for righteousness. We must trust him in the good times
and the difficult times.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, you have given us hope that in the
middle of our grief you will be our comfort. I ask you,
Prince of Peace, stand by my side and comfort my
troubled heart. In Christ's name I ask. Amen.
Message: Whatever the cause of our grief it is very
real to us. Even when others don’t think we should feel
so deeply about a particular loss, God doesn’t feel that
way. He feels our pain and grief whatever the cause.
Affirmation: I am not dependent upon circumstances
for my inner peace. My peace comes from God and
even in the midst of grief and suffering I have p eace.
Reflection: It would be good to consider if you have
been allowing external circumstances to determine
whether you have inner peace.
