Day Twenty One
The Bible Is The Authority for Your Life
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for c orrection, for
instruction in righteousness. – 2 Timothy 3:16
I think one of the reas ons there is so much cha os
and confusion in the world is because everyone thinks
they are the authority. No one person or system of
belief is held up as the standard.
When there is no standard against which to compare
conduct then there is no standard for justice because
then every man becomes just in his own eyes. No
society that has held such views has remained morally
strong, neither has it survived long without fallin g
victim to one who preys upon their weakness.
For those of us who believe, however, there is a
standard by which we can judge our lives. There is a
code of conduct and a source of justice for us all. It is
justice never changing neither is it affected by the
whims of society. It is the eternal word of God that is
as good for instruction, correction and discipline today
as it was 2000 years ago.
The scripture is history, philosophy, and law. Each
page is sprinkled with truth and covered with mercy
and grace. It is not only a guide for righteous living it
is also light which leads to redemp tion when we have
failed.
We can have confidence that this book which has
withstood 2000 years of assault upon its validity is still
the best standard for doctrine, reproof, correction and
instruction in righteousness. Read it – love it – live it!
