COLLEGE PREP/TSIA EXEMPT/UT ONRAMPS

University of Texas - OnRamps

Teacher of record for high school does not have to have a Master’s degree,

but must be SBOE Certified in content area and have one-year minimum

teaching experience of the subject.

• Mandatory Summer Training (new teachers attend 9 days, returning 3)

• Communication with UT College Professor through online sessions

• Two one-day workshops, one in the fall (Oct) and one in the spring (Feb)

• Students do not need to be TSI ready, but must have taken it once

• Students must have passed all EOCs and prerequisite courses

• Students who do not do well in college portion can deny grade at end of the year

• Students can still earn the high school credit even if they deny the college credit

• All classes taught on home campus (min: 12 students, max: 25 students)

Deadline: Mid-Feb Select High School content teacher for content course

• Content Area(s) English: English

• Content Area(s) Math: Pre-Calculus, Statistics, College Algebra 2

• Content Area(s) Science: Chemistry, Physics 1 and Physics 2, Geo-Science, Computer Science

• Content Area(s) Social Studies: US History

• Content Area(s) Fine Arts: Art Entertainment Technology

Per Free and Reduced lunch $99

Mid-March

Identify 10th and 11th

grade students who have

passed EOC’s and have

pre-requisites for Pre-Cal,

Statistics, Physics, etc.

Make sure students have

tested for TSI at least once.

Mid-April

Submit the name of teacher,

email, and the subject they

will teach to the Advanced

Academics Office/District Dual

Credit Coordinator. A link will

be sent to the teacher from

OnRamps to apply online in

order to teach the course.

Mid-May

Deadline to submit

requests and

register teachers for

summer PLI training

to UT OnRamps

representative.
