UTSA P-20/DUAL CREDIT COURSE CODES

The University of Texas at San Antonio Dual Credit

Programs

The UTSA Early Birds Dual Credit Program - $70 app fee (one time only), and $384 per student per

course.

UTSA offers several classes: US National Government (Poli 1013), Economic Principles and Issues

(ECO 2003), US History Columbus to Civil War (HIST 1043), US History Post Civil War Era (HIST 1053),

Algebra for Scientists and Engineers (Math 1073), Pre-Cal (Math 1093), Writing Rhetoric and Composition

(WRC 1013 and 1023). Teachers will be college professors and will be held at the UTSA-Downtown

campus. Transportation will be provided by SAISD.

Deadline: In February, identify which students are TSI College Ready = 350 M, 351 R, 340 W, “5” on Essay

who desire take the course. Submit rosters to Advanced Academics Office/District Dual Credit Coordinator.

Students Must:

• Complete ApplyTexas application, meet TSI College Readiness scores, have their Meningitis shot,

and HS Transcript.

• Once registered, student will go twice a week to their class and must be responsible for all assignments and lab

work. Sometimes, college professor will ask a teacher on the high school campus to assist in lab time.

• SAISD will pay for $70 application fee and tuition per student.

• Content Area(s): Government, Economics, Pre-Cal, US History, English, Biology, Speech, Ethnic Studies,

Psychology and Sociology. Additional courses available to those listed above: Biology, Speech, Business Math,

Ethnic Studies, Psychology and Sociology.

• Offered Mon & Wed or Tues & Thurs in the morning or in the afternoon. Master schedule should reflect these

times and possible labs or Friday tutoring.

• First week in August, Deadline to Register students for the fall courses. Dual Credit Program Manager will

register all DC students.

• High school junior or senior with good academic standing.

• TSI complete in dual credit subject, or granted exemption.

• Students will apply as a group on scheduled “Dual Credit Day” in April. Deadline for new student applications.

In ‘Online Apply Texas DC Application; UTSA Program Manager will need to be present.

• Official High School Transcripts (Sealed)

• Official TSI, ACT and/or SAT scores (Sealed)

• Updated Meningitis Vaccination Records (expires after 5 years)

Upon admission, student will receive a DC Admissions letter which will include their UTSA ID and ASAP

account information.

• First week in August, Deadline to Register students for the fall courses. P-20 Program Manager will register all

DC students

• Students may access their registered courses through their ASAP accounts.

• Mid-August, Deadline for DC orientation (Fall students); held at UTSA Downtown

campus.

• Mid-Oct, Deadline for SAISD to pay tuition.
