Karl Sine F.R.S.A. in Acting (Rosebud School of the Arts), Advanced Certification FDC
Instructor in Acting, Stage Combat, and Career Management
Karl works as an actor, director and fight director across Southern Alberta, including Theatre Calgary,
Alberta Theatre Projects, Citadel, The Shakespeare Company, Lunchbox, Rosebud Theatre, and
The Canadian Badlands Passion Play. He Holds his Advanced Stage Combat Certification with Fight
Directors Canada and has had the privilege of training with fight masters all over the globe. Karl has
taught acting and stage combat classes at Rosebud School of the Arts, Rocky Mountain College, and
numerous high school workshops.
David Snider B.A. (University of Oregon, magna cum laude), M.F.A. (University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign)
Head of Certificate Programme, Instructor in Acting, Speech, and Christianity and the Arts
Since joining Rosebud Centre of the Arts six years ago, David has been seen in numerous roles on
the Rosebud stage. For eight years he worked for Chemainus Theatre Festival on Vancouver Island
as education director and artistic associate. David teaches acting principles, Shakespeare, audition
techniques, musical theatre, and Christianity and the Arts. He is also a director, sound designer and
composer.

Instructor in Acting
Royal is a versatile actor, director, musician, and visual artist who for the past six years has directed
The Canadian Badlands Passion Play. Royal began his career at Rosebud Theatre, and has performed
across western Canada in theatre, film, and as a member of folk duo Lewis & Royal. Acting credits
include Dora Award Nominated Tent Meeting (Blinding Light Productions); The Miser (Chemainus
Theatre); Furniture of Heaven (Pacific Theatre); Ten Little Indians (Vertigo Theatre). Film credits include
Steven Spielberg’s Into the West; Michael Winterbottom’s The Claim; Anne Wheeler’s The Investigation.
His latest artistic ventures include a video production company and the Sproule Art Gallery in Rosebud.
Royal is an acting coach with a passion for training actors and directors. Known and respected for his
insightful critique, Royal is a sought after acting coach.
Margaret ‘Maki’ Van Dyke B.A. (Redeemer College), M.A. (University of Alberta)
Registrar, Instructor in Theatre History and Script Analysis
Maki finds history fascinating, administration invigorating, while acting keeps her connected. Maki
serves as Rosebud’s registrar in addition to teaching many of the theoretical-based courses. Special
interests include playwrights of ancient Greece, medieval theatre, and ethnic drama.
Jeany Van Meltebeke B.A. (Trinity Western University), M.F.A. (University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign)
Instructor in Acting, Faith and Art, and Drama Ministry
Jeany is a regular acting coach and instructor of Drama Ministries, Faith and Art, and advanced acting
classes. Jeany also enjoys directing, choreography, and performing. Adapting and directing The Way of
the Wolf for THR 359 remains one of her most cherished RSA experiences. Jeany has been fortunate
to act on the Opera House stage as a resident company member in numerous Rosebud Theatre shows,
most recently $38,000 for a Friendly Face and A Bright Particular Star. She inspires her students to
take risks and live big both on and off the stage.
Randall Wiebe Diploma (Gardner Bible College), Diploma in Visual Art (Alberta College of Art and
Design), B.C.T.A., F.R.S.A. (Rosebud School of the Arts)
Instructor in Visual Art
Randall Wiebe is a veteran instructor in art, photography and drama and a freelance graphic designer
and photographer. His own work focuses on figurative and portrait paintings and large-scale
commissions for churches. Randall has taught art for Rosebud School of the Arts, Rocky Mountain
College, the Central Alberta home school consortium, Canadian Badlands Passion Play, and art camps
as far as Japan and Malaysia. His philosophy of teaching is that everyone can draw when they learn to
see with their own eyes and respond to life. His passion is teaching artist to develop their unique voice,
not to merely imitate one’s favourite artist or technique.
