Diversityand Inclusion was the first ofthose awarded, and this win wastaken by Inktech, with U-POLbeing highly commended fortheir entry. Receiving moreentries than any other category,Marketing Campaign of the Yearwas awarded to U-POL whileboth Dulux Trade (AkzoNobelDecorative Paints UK&I) andPPG (Architectural Coatings UK& Ireland) were highlycommended for their campaigns.Celebrating young talent in theindustry, Apprentice of the YearSuccess for SFChinaSFCHINA2019, the 32nd editionof its series, concluded with arecord-breaking net exhibit sizeon November 18-20 at theShanghai New InternationalExpo Centre. The exhibitionresults further strengthenSFCHINA’s status as a greatplatform where surface finishingindustry meets annually. Thisyear the show had:• Total Gross Exhibition Area:was received by Brannon Lee ofDacrylate Paints.The 2019 Awards continued tocelebrate great talent in thecoatings industry with wins forYoung Leader of the Year,picked up by Dayne Fletcher ofInktech and Mark Mills fromWhitford (now a part of PPG)gaining Student of the Year.Further on the training theme,the Excellence in Training Awardwas presented to PPG(Architectural Coatings UK &Ireland), with AkzoNobel highlycommended for their entry.Highlighting sustainabilitywithin the coatings industry, theSustainable Innovation Awardwas given to PPG (ArchitecturalCoatings UK & Ireland). Plus,BCF’s long standing CoatingsCare Awards were presented totwo BCF member companiesparticipating in the programme– the Coatings Care Overall Best17,000 sqm – A New Record! (Arise of 5% and 23% against2017 and 2018 editionsrespectively);• No. of Registered Visitors:11,528, including 10,370domestic China and 1,158overseas visitors;• No. of Exhibitors: 340, from22 countries/regions, including77 new exhibitors;• No. of ExhibitorPerformer Award went toAkzoNobel Packaging for theirsite in Birmingham whileCoatings Care Progress wasawarded to Whitford (now a partof PPG) in Runcorn.Two companies were declaredwinner for the Customer ServiceAward – to AkzoNobel andInktech respectively. Finally,Corporate Social Responsibilitysaw Organik Kimya highlycommended while HMG Paintstook home the win.Tom Bowtell, BCF chiefexecutive said “At such anunsettling time for our industry,it was great to come together inorder to celebrate all that isfantastic in the coatings industry,with the event continuing togrow year by year.
