UTA, Sydney (AUS). A few more Australian double deckers made it to New Zealand but are not listed here.<br />
Dunedin City Transport. 712 (NC 7146, ex 660 DYE) was based in Queenstown and used on the ‘Arrowtown<br />
Sightseeing’ tour. <strong>The</strong> vehicle passed to Remarkable, Queenstown when that operator bought over the tour<br />
business.<br />
Furniture City, Auckland. u/r (ex 4H1RE, NL 939, -?-, 144 ENN) was obtained for use as a static playbus in a<br />
furniture megastore on Target Road, Glenfield, North Auckland. <strong>The</strong> vehicle had lost its cherished plate to<br />
RU 5308 (ex WJN 348J) before leaving Party Bus, Auckland.<br />
Jamieson, Stratford. 4HIRE2 (ex LM 896, 670 DYE) is also used by Bethlehem Coachlines, Bethlehem, an<br />
operator controlled by one of the Jamieson family. It may have recently passed to Little, Masterton for<br />
preservation.<br />
Party Bus, Auckland. 102 (LM 896, ex 670 DYE) was later reregistered 4HIRE2. It was named Chief. It may have<br />
come via another operator after Motat.<br />
Price, Napier. 4H1RE (ex RU 5308, WJN 348J) is used on a shuttle between his three pubs in the city, <strong>The</strong><br />
Thirsty Whale, <strong>The</strong> Cock’n’Bull and the Brazen Head.<br />
Welch, Kaukapakapa. FV 2431 (ex MXX 250) is a long-term restoration pr<strong>oj</strong>ect.<br />
SPAIN<br />
Auto Res S.L., Madrid<br />
Auto Res was formed in 1943. <strong>The</strong>y now operate extensive services between the following provinces: Avila,<br />
Badajoz, Caceras, Castellon, Cuenca, Madrid, Orense, Pontevadra, Salamanca, Valencia and Zamora. Most<br />
services start from Madrid. A service is also operated to Portugal. In 2002 they participated in formation of the<br />
Avanza group, the other members then being TUZSA, Zaragoza and VITRASA, Vigo, both urban operators. <strong>The</strong><br />
current fleet numbers about 200 coaches. A great web site at www.auto-res.net shows the extent of the operation.<br />
