General
Autobus Connaisseur {Gray Line}, Montreal. UFC 422K appears withdrawn and providing a source of spares
(by8/05). In 8/05, 25901 (UWV 605S) carried an overall advertisement for Montreal Casino. Apart from
RML2493 which was acquired in ‘as withdrawn’ condition purely for spares, all the RMLs have been converted
to open top and have the stairs and platform reversed; most carry ‘Montreal Sightseeing’ names on the narrow
‘tween decks band at the front, and some have Montreal scenes on the lower deck panels.
Autobus Galland, Laval. Identity of the Bristol VR that carried the registration RLJ 345H whilst here, is now 95%
certain to have been AET 181T, as shown above.
Autocar Imperial, Longueuil. UFC 422K had been converted to open-top by 10/00, at which time JXN 90 was in a
yellow and blue livery, JGF 404K was in an advertising livery for McKibbins Irish Pub (and known as ‘The Party
Bus’) and JHW 114P retained its First Badgerline colours; others are painted red, but THM 537M has had a
beefeeter added. When the double deckers were sold, it is believed that JXN 90 was retained by a member of
management for ultimate preservation.
Autocar Preference, St. Therese-de-Blainville. Both KEL 721 and THN 260F were converted to open top format
whilst here.
Autocar Viens, Montreal. It has been suggested that Autocar Viens and Autocar Imperial were very closely
connected and that they merged, or the former took over the latter, but the actual sequence of events is
unclear. It is also unclear as to what happened to THM 537M at, or after, the sell out to Autobus Connaisseur
{Gray Line}; for the moment I shall show it as still in stock here until I receive updating information.
Query: There have been reports of BTF 29 (Leyland Titan TD4c new to Lytham St. Annes Corporation (LA) in
1937) being in the Quebec City area in 1997. It appears it was towed away from a grass-strip airfield south of
Quebec City, where some restoration had commenced, in June 1997, but nothing has been heard of it since. If
anyone can enlighten us, please get in touch.
MISCELLANEOUS EX UK VEHICLES

GENERAL
From 1 st May 2000 a new series of registration plates was introduced. This included a section for Historical
vehicles which are issued with black on reflection yellow plates. Many of the ex UK double deckers were reregistered
into this series.
