Zarząd i Pracownicy / Management and Staff
Andrzej Mitura Prezes Zarządu Chairman of the Board Dear Readers, When in 1991 I became director of the Railway Construction Company in Kraków and later, after the separation from the Polish National Railway Company, director of the Railway Works Company, I was well aware of the fact that the company had entered the most difficult period of development in its history - one which was to determine its future. The situation called for decisive action, determination, but also patience and continuous education of the entire organisation to successfully reach the aims stated in the tender for the programme of restructuring. At that time, however, I did not know that I would be the one to lead the company for over a decade until the establishment of a new company with almost 60 years of tradition, i.e. Rail and Road Works Enterprises in Kraków, a joint-stock company (R&RWE) - - a company whose first three years of existence have shown that its condition continues to improve by increasing its sales and employment and which has very good prospects in fulfilling its mission of constructing railway infrastructure. We owe the effects first of all to the wonderful team of people with whom I have been so fortunate to work with over the years as well as to the whole staff - an army of employees associated with R&RWE through good and bad times. Thanks to their hard work we have reached this situation we can now be proud of. Also, the successive supervisory boards, through their wise decisions, help and involvement have markedly contributed to the company’s survival and further growth. I wish to thank all those people, those mentioned and omitted, and to dedicate this publication to them.
