Young Achiever
Wigan Soroptimists are now welcoming nominations for
their Young Achiever Award for 2020.
This award is made each year to a to a local young girl/
woman aged 14-21 who has set a good example to the
local community. The winner will have her name engraved
on a trophy and will receive an engraved miniature trophy
together with a gift card valued at £100.
The group takes a broad view of achievement to
encompass service to the community. Acts of bravery,
overcoming life’s difficulties, being a young carer, having
business skills, or outstanding academic, sporting or arts
attainment. Previous winners include Caitlin Touhey,
Beatrice Taylor, Olivia Barrow and Olivia Garcia.
Anyone can make a nomination and the nomination
forms can be obtained on request from yaaward@ymail.
com or from any member of SI Wigan and it will be also
available on the club’s website http://sigbi.org/wigan
Nominees must be between 14–21 years and they must
come from anywhere in Wigan Borough, except for
Leigh, Tyldesley and Atherton. When completed, forms
should be returned by post to: Young Achiever Award,
10 Edinburgh Drive, Wigan, WN5 9ET or emailed to
yaaward@ymail.com by 30th October 2020.
