UPGRADE
COMPLETES
The final 14 units of Victoria’s single-biggest
order of replacement buses in 25 years have
headed into service around metropolitan routes.
Forming part of the state
government’s 100 newbus
order, the 60 Scania
K310UB (Euro 5) and 40
Scania K320UB (Euro
bodies – are, “…transforming the
customer experience improving
safety, reliability and comfort for our
customers,” the company explained.
The new buses were built in line
with the Victorian government’s Local
Jobs First Policy, creating jobs in
Ballarat and sustaining employment
in Dandenong, Transdev Melbourne
Operating from Transdev’s North
Fitzroy depot on routes around the
inner north and eastern suburbs
– including Carlton, Kew, Port
Melbourne and Altona North – the
new buses have been replacing an
ageing fleet since July 2019.
According to the company,
eventually these buses will service
more routes across Melbourne
and will operate where they are
needed most.
