DENTAL WHITENING IN OFFICE- AND HOME-BASED TECHNIQUE20TREATMENT PERFORMED:The combined technique (office and home whitening) was used. After the first whitening session with Power Bleaching Office37%, desensitizer was used, as the patient reported mild sensitivity. During the treatment there was no need for a newdesensitizing procedure and the treatment was completed with the use of Power Bleaching Home 16%.123METHODOLOGY USEDTECHNIQUE:Prophylaxis was performed with pumice stone (Maquira) and water on all the patient's teeth, photograph of the initial color(2.5M2) and choice of the desired color (BL3).Right after that, Maxdam light-curing gingival barrier was inserted and Power Bleaching Office 37% was used for one (1) hour,without a break. The composition of BM4 bleaching gel presents in its formula carbamide peroxide and potassium oxalate,substances capable of reducing sensitivity during tooth whitening.At the end of the office session, the patient reported mild sensitivity in the upper and lower anterior teeth.Painless 5% was applied for 10 min, and after that period time, the product was removed with a cotton ball.The patient reported that the sensitivity ceased.4The patient was instructed to continue using Power Bleaching Home 10% (home whitening) forseven (7) days, in sessions of one (1) to two (2) hours daily, and never sleep with the acetate trays,so that their pressure due to the gel containment was not a causal factor of dental sensitivity. Wealso recommend immediate brushing after eating strongly colored foods such as: wine, açaí, softdrinks, using a super soft brush, preferably without the use of abrasive paste.5The patient returned to the office after seven (7) days.The second session with Power Bleaching Office 37% wasperformed for one (1) hour, and as there was no sensitivityreport, it was possible to increase the concentration of thehome gel to Power Bleaching Home 16%. In her third andfourth returns for whitening in the office, the same form ofapplication was followed.TREATMENT PERIOD:Power Bleaching Office 37% (4 sessions),Power Bleaching Home 10% – 2 hours a day for seven (7) days,Power Bleaching Home 16% – 2 hours a day for twenty-one (21)days.NUMBER OF SESSIONS:Four (4) sessions in the office.Four (4) weeks of home-based treatment.MATERIALS USEDMAXDAMLIGHTCURING GINGIVALBARRIER.POWERBLEACHINGOFFICE 37%POWERBLEACHINGHOME 10%PAINLESSDESENSITIZER 5%CONCLUSION FROM MYEXPERIENCESignificant and satisfactory improvement was observed in thepatient's aesthetic aspect and tooth whitening. The treatment wasconcluded with the evolution of final color to: central and canine bl3,according to the patient’s expectation.
