In 2017, our Founder and CEO, Cathrin Stickney, learned<br />

that it would take more than two hundred years <strong>to</strong> close the<br />

gender gap. Driven by that, and her own early-career experience<br />

being <strong>to</strong>ld by a potential employer that they “didn’t<br />

hire women,” she founded <strong>Parity</strong>.<strong>org</strong> <strong>to</strong> create “Equal<br />

Representation. Now.” In its first two years, <strong>Parity</strong>.<strong>org</strong><br />

focused on closing the gender gap, and in July 2020<br />

expanded its efforts <strong>to</strong> support people of color at the <strong>to</strong>p of<br />

business, where the representation gap is the widest.<br />

• The <strong>Parity</strong>Pledge® asks companies <strong>to</strong> interview at least<br />

one qualified woman and one qualified person of color<br />

for every open role, VP and higher, including the C-suite<br />

and the Board. Nearly 500 companies have signed the<br />

pledge, and hundreds of individuals have also signed the<br />

Individual <strong>Parity</strong>Pledge® <strong>to</strong> support and celebrate<br />

women and people of color rising <strong>to</strong> the <strong>to</strong>p of business.<br />

• The <strong>Parity</strong> Model, developed from hundreds of conversations<br />

with CHROs and CEOs, identifies the three<br />

foundational elements needed <strong>to</strong> achieve gender and<br />

racial parity, with actionable <strong>to</strong>ols and practices.<br />

• The <strong>Parity</strong>INDEX® is a private dashboard <strong>to</strong> help companies<br />

increase parity at the <strong>to</strong>p by measuring and improving<br />

their gender and racial balance. The <strong>Parity</strong>INDEX also<br />

includes pay parity <strong>to</strong>ols. Companies can benchmark<br />

against their industry and see progress over time.<br />

• The Best Companies for Women <strong>to</strong> Advance List recognizes<br />

companies that offer programs and policies that<br />

help women succeed in the workplace.<br />

In our first three years, <strong>Parity</strong>.<strong>org</strong> hit significant miles<strong>to</strong>nes and established a<br />

reputation as an industry leader in diversity and equal representation.<br />

Companies have responded by adopting the <strong>Parity</strong>Pledge and taking concrete<br />

action <strong>to</strong> close the gender and racial gap at the <strong>to</strong>p of their <strong>org</strong>anization.<br />
