DESIGNING YOUR SEMPRE
Following your receipt of this email
our team will call to arrange a
meeting.
At this meeting we will discuss what
your expectations are, and our team
will acquaint you with the process of
making the memorial glass and how
you can be involved.
We will then discuss which Sempre
glass item/s you would like, confirming
design options and colour, and
session times.
MAKING YOUR SEMPRE
To manage the creation of your
Sempre glass in the most intimate
and respectful manner, the service is
only available twice a week when the
Glassworks is closed to the public,
providing you with the utmost privacy.
Times will be available one morning
and one evening during the week.
We have made a conscious decision
to restrict the number of sessions
to ensure that the creation of your
Sempre memorial glass is a quiet,
meditative experience for you and
the artist.
If you choose not to participate in
the making session, we recommend
watching from the viewing gallery
where one of our team will provide
support, and explain the process.
You will also be able to meet with the
artist and reflect on the process after
the work is finished.
Throughout the process some ash
will be caught inside the glass that
is not used in the finished product.
This will be disposed of by Canberra
Glassworks in accordance with our
contaminated glass procedure. We
will need your consent to do this.
COLLECTING YOUR SEMPRE
The object will be available for
collection approximately two weeks
after the session. This will allow time
for it to anneal (cool down without
cracking), the surface cold worked (if
required) and for it to be thoroughly
inspected and safely packaged.
A private appointment will be
made for you to collect your Sempre
memorial glass, providing you with
the privacy to reflect on the work and
your experience in creating it.
If you decide to select Sempre as a
way to remember and reflect upon
your loved one, we will ensure you
are treated with the utmost care and
respect throughout the process.
