places means this year’s
Christmas celebrations will
be a bit different. To ensure
that we all keep safe, local
churches are either streaming
services online or if opening
their doors, asking people to
pre-register their interest in
attending via email so they
can manage numbers in a
COVID-safe way. Don’t just
turn up!

Expired flares? Boaters are
invited to drop off old flares for
safe, easy disposal at the NSW
Maritime’s collection point at
Bayview Boat Ramp on Sun 29th
November from 7.30am-5pm
(closed 12-12pm).
Scouts Christmas trees. Get
in early and pick out a fresh tree
on Sat 5. Bayview Sea Scouts will
be set up at the Scout Hall and
also at Newport Scout Hall (near
Lucky and Peps) from 7am selling
trees for $80; Mona Vale Scout
Group will be selling mediumsized
fresh trees at the Coles
Express Service Station at Avalon
for $70; and the Terrey Hills
Scouts have joined forces with
local Rotarians to sell trees from
$80 near the Terrey Hills Tavern
and near the Telstra tower on
Mona Vale Road from 8am- 3pm
(or until sold out!). Also, Elanora
Heights Scout Group will be
selling trees at Bilarong Reserve
from 7am-1pm on Sat 12.
Gardening workshop. See
different types of wicking beds at
the Kimbirki Eco House & Garden
and learn how to build one and
plant it up with some veggies on
Sun 6 from 10am-1pm. Residents

Augustine’s College Brookvale
to bag quality pre-loved books,
CDs, DVDs, puzzles and
boardgames at Lifeline Northern
Beaches’ Giant Book Fair open
Thurs 10 – 11am-7pm; Fri 11 –
9am-7pm; Sat 12 – 9am-5pm and
Sun 13 – 9am-3pm.

Following the trend of presenting
events online, you can enjoy a
night of your favourite carols with
special guest Santa as the Link
Church presents Carols by The
Lake (re-imagined) on Sat 19 from
8pm at link.org.au/carols
Carols to you. Large-scale
events may have been cancelled
this year but far from being
a grinch about it Council is
funnelling the funds it would have
spent on carols and fireworks
towards decorating our villages
and engaging performers to keep
the festive spirit alive.
