Santa shops locally
The Christmas event of the year is
back! The shops, restaurants, cafes and
salons of Avalon Village are extending
their trading hours to 8pm on Thursday
17 December to host An Avalon
Christmas Late Night Shopping.
Santa has already confirmed he will
be bringing his list, the Thomas O’Dell
Jazz Trio will be back to entertain
shoppers, shop windows will be
competing for “best dressed”, and
winners in the children’s colouring-in
competition will be selected.
An initiative of the Avalon Palm Beach
Business Chamber, this year’s event
builds on the success of last year’s
inaugural Shopping Night.
“Over the past 12 months, people
have come to appreciate just how
much their local village has to offer,”
said Chamber representative Vanessa
Tiernan. “Most of our businesses are
owned and run by local families who
support our schools and clubs and
provide employment, so shopping
locally means your dollars invest in a
community.”
“The streets and laneways of Avalon
Village will be alive with music, food
and stalls. We are encouraging people
to treat this as a special night out,
enjoy a meal, check out the Christmas
window displays and most importantly
