Professional landscape photographer Peter Sedgwick is back with great gift ideas
at Warriewood Square right through until Christmas Eve. On display are more
than 500 unique and beautiful images, with a full portfolio of work featuring all
the Northern Beaches. Another portfolio showcases hidden bays and beaches of
Pittwater, plus there’s imagery from the north coast, Central Coast, south coast, the
Blue Mountains and a whole new section featuring the Kimberleys. If you purchase
Casa Mondella
Give a little ‘Dolce Vita’ this Christmas and enable
artisan businesses to survive. Lisa Kench sources
beautiful homewares and gifts from individual Italian
artisans and local businesses which continue to produce
authentic, ethical products that are affordable, attractive
and fit for purpose. Casa Mondella products are
only available online, many exclusively to Australia,
and have been produced for generations. The iconic
rooster jugs from Deruta in the Umbrian region, seen
throughout Italy, have been made for over 500 years.
Originally created to celebrate the noisy roosters who
alerted Guiliano Medici to an attempt on his life, they are
traditionally given to bring luck, Lisa explained. “They were
also traditionally used for wine (not water as I had thought!) but the choice is yours.”
Exquisitely packaged, sweet smelling natural soaps and intricately woven hand towels
are the perfect thank you gift at any time, but especially this year, when everyone
is endlessly hand washing. Everything ordered before Christmas will arrive beautifully
gift wrapped, ready to go; the hard part will be deciding what to give to your loved
ones, and what to keep for yourself. Visit the website casamondella.com
Santa shops locally
The Christmas event of the year is
back! The shops, restaurants, cafes and
salons of Avalon Village are extending
their trading hours to 8pm on Thursday
17 December to host An Avalon
Christmas Late Night Shopping.
Santa has already confirmed he will
be bringing his list, the Thomas O’Dell
Jazz Trio will be back to entertain
shoppers, shop windows will be
competing for “best dressed”, and
winners in the children’s colouring-in
competition will be selected.
An initiative of the Avalon Palm Beach
Business Chamber, this year’s event
builds on the success of last year’s
inaugural Shopping Night.
“Over the past 12 months, people
have come to appreciate just how
much their local village has to offer,”
said Chamber representative Vanessa
Tiernan. “Most of our businesses are
owned and run by local families who
support our schools and clubs and
provide employment, so shopping
locally means your dollars invest in a
community.”
“The streets and laneways of Avalon
Village will be alive with music, food
and stalls. We are encouraging people
to treat this as a special night out,
enjoy a meal, check out the Christmas
window displays and most importantly
take advantage of the many special
offers and activities our businesses are
offering on the night,” Vanessa added.
