Wednesday November 18 Ladies played a 9hole single stableford. Winner was Margaret Wightman 20 points on a count back from Runner up Enid Faulkner 20 points. Enid’s NTP on no 4 was Judie Marschke. Enid is the Count Back queen of all time, losing more times than she wins, sorry Enid it happened again. PM Chook Run. 9 hole single stableford. Winner Geoff Murtagh 26 points, runner up Peter Williams and 2nd runner up Clinton Smith. NTP no 3 Graeme Kuhn, no 4 Des Cox and no 7 Brian Loveland. Saturday November 21 Our first time sponsor Manuela Laycock “ Bodymechanic Bowen Therapy” trophy day, Single Stroke/ Monthly Medal for December. What a great day for Golf. Men’s Winner with a great score was John Cranky Faulkner with 63 nett. Well done Cranky. Cranky also took out the Monthly Medal for December. Runner up was new member Clinton Smith 68 Nett, Ladies Winner on a 3 way count back on 70 nett was Manuela Laycock Monthly Medal winner. Bodymechanic Trophy won by Enid Faulkner 70 on a count back from runner up Jodie Cowley 70. Men’s Long Drive 5/14 New Member Thorne Our Pub Day on the 17th November was a great day, warm, but we all managed the heat very well. The winners for the day were Geoff & Elaine Spann, Lourie Reibelt and Sel Donges, Congratulations. Runner Up was Ted Jenkins, Paul Schumack, Vic Swanson and Terry Jendre. !st Round winners, Rusty ( V. Szedanowski) P. Brown, G.Lebeter and D Klibbe. 2nd Round winners were Alan Small Grizz (d. Giles) Sue Cornelissen and Hugh Edwards. Well done to all who patricipated. We have a big weekend coming up with the Esk 2000 competition, good luck to all the teams involved. ESK BOWLS Wednesday Mornings 9.00 for 9.30 start. We have some bowls for you to use if you have none and flat soled shoes preferred. Bingo is on Thursday Eyes Down at 11.00am, there is food for you to purchase for your lunch. NO Gaming Machines are to be in use while Bingo is being called. Club 54241213, President (Grizz) 0414938678 Secretary Yvonne 0427967550 Games Sue 0428645933 On the weekend of the 29th February and 1st March 2020, the Esk Campdraft Association held its first youth camp at the Esk Showgrounds. 36 junior and juvenile riders were dived into four groups where they covered a range of skills ranging from dry work, to positioning on cattle inside and outside the camp, as well as practice runs on cattle. The kids were lucky enough to practice on beautiful Friesian heifers donated by Woodbank dairy and the Gault family, as well as cows kindly donated by treasurer Jim Kruger. Youth riders were mentored by a group of fantastic coaches consisting of; Karen Butters, Luke McEwan, Mark Sherlock and Mark Gellhar. This amazing group of people, as well as several local volunteers, gave their time and wisdom. It was a pleasure to watch every rider progress and improve over the course of the weekend. Several guest speakers were present over the two days, including a nutrition talk on the Saturday by Michael Mobbs, and a talk on basic hoof care delivered by farrier Tony Scantlebury. T h e s e informative discussions continued on Sunday, with a session on rules and regulations by Fiona Radke and a dental talk by local vet Laura Bairstow. ESK CAMPDRAFT YOUTH CAMP TOOGOOLAWAH BOWLS In addition to the inaugural camp, Sunday saw the handover of the association’s title of patron. Jim Copley, who has been patron for many years and whose service has been muchly appreciated, handed over the title to much valued committee member John Drynan. John has been in involved with the club for over 34 years and he accepted the title in a short ceremony on Sunday. The committee led by President Toni Webster, considered the camp a great success and are excited to follow all riders on their campdraft careers. Special thanks go to the events sponsors; Me-Cow, Campdraft Connect and John Jones as well as all volunteers over the weekend. A special thanks to Jenny Wright and Debra Gelhaar for their massive effort in the canteen keeping everyone fed. The Esk campdraft committee will be holding its AGM on 29th November 2020 at 1 pm at the Grand Hotel Esk, and looks forward to this becoming an annual event. Wednesday November 18 Keith McWhirter, Colleen Heath and Gerrit Winkeler travelled to Woodford for their Triples Day and managed to become First Round Winners. The team thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thanks for the invite Woodford. Thursday November 19 at home, we only had 6 players who played a Triples Game. No winners on the day as the game was a draw. Raffle was won by Lyn McWhirter. Also on Thursday We sent a team to Caboolture Lakes for two games of 2 Bowl Triples. Not good enough on the day but a good time was had by all. Sunday November 22. We only had 5 players on a very hot day who played 18 ends. Winners on the day were Ian Bradow, John Greany and Gerrit Winkeler. All members are invited to attend. • To allow for the annual renovation of our greens, our Christmas Breakup will be held on Sunday 6th December 2020. Janet taking the Ladies prize, Fay getting R/ UP spot and the pin shot. A top day with over 30 players in attendance, many thanks to Cameron for providing all the prizes, good to keep the Wyatt name going as his father was a valuable member of the club for many years.
