Hello and welcome back, we are fully open
again, we hope you and your family are safe
and well. As many of you will be aware we
remained open during the November lock down,
predominantly for Servicing and Parts but as part
of the governments measures we had to shut the
showroom to customers wishing to view cars so
have operated with a reduced sales team who
concentrated on selling cars using our website
and telephone, etc, “click and collect”, although
this has been successful it will never replace
physically inspecting your intended purchase and
sitting face to face to discuss buying options and
your part exchange.
Although it’s been a dreadful year and we have
plenty of things to worry about and hurdles to
climb it is hugely positive that a vaccine has been
developed and there is some light at the end of
the tunnel. As we approach the Brexit deadline
I think we all know that goods won’t be getting
cheaper, especially big ticket items like cars, with
this in mind Skoda have a range of offers that are
guaranteed until 31st March 2021 if ordered by
31st December this year that are; inflation proof,
guarantee your monthly payment and guarantee
the value of your car for the future, protecting
your investment from the myriad of current
uncertainties.
Earlier this year we took delivery of Skoda’s first
ever fully Electric Vehicle the Citigo-e IV which
was long awaited and an important transition
vehicle for us, now we are taking orders for
Skoda’s first all-electric SUV, the Enyaq which
unlike the Citigo isn’t simply an electric motor
added to an existing chassis but instead a
completely new vehicle designed solely for
electric, which is to be followed by a coupe
version later next year.
This autumn we took delivery of the latest
version of Skoda’s best-selling model (more than
6.5 million vehicles produced to date), the new
fourth-generation Octavia, sixty one years after
production of the original started in 1959. We are
eagerly waiting delivery of our first Octavia vRS
which looks very stylish and will be available for
the first time as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) (vRS iV).
Our workshops have been extremely busy this
year so we’ve been busy recruiting, plus we
decided to recruit an apprentice as school leavers
have struggled this year finding employment.
Pictured below are new recruits who we warmly
welcome to Skoda and the Derek Slack Motors
team; Master Technician, Duncan Campbell;
Technician, Casey Walker and Apprentice, Morgan
Hamilton, plus camera shy Technician, Lucy
Mallon.
As ever we’d be delighted to see you in our
showroom to help serve you with any of your
motoring needs and on behalf of our entire team
we wish you and your family safe motoring and a
happy Christmas,
Managing Director
