About the Artist
Carrie Sieh (b. 1978, Los Angeles, CA) is an interdisciplinary
artist, advocate, and permaculture enthusiast living and working
in Miami. Her practice is inspired by cultural, geographic,
and economic histories; theories of mind, intersectionality,
communication, and organization; geoscience; pattern,
cryptology and symbolism; thought experiments; game theory;
social justice movements; personal narrative; and the ways in
which knowledge finds material expression. Sieh received a BA
in painting and photography from the University of California at
Santa Cruz, and a Master’s in Library and Information Science
from San José State University. Her work has been exhibited
at Bernice Steinbaum Gallery, Miami; Art & History Museums,
Maitland, FL; Miami International Airport; Bienes Museum
of the Modern Book, Fort Lauderdale; Coral Gables Museum;
MDC Museum of Art & Design, Miami; Charles Deering Estate,
Miami; and the Art & Culture Center of Hollywood, FL, among
others. She is represented by Bernice Steinbaum Gallery.
About the Curator
Omar López-Chahoud has been Artistic Director and
Curator of UNTITLED, ART since its founding in 2012. As
an independent curator, López-Chahoud has curated and
co-curated numerous exhibitions in the United States and
internationally. He organized the Nicaraguan Biennial in March
2014 and has participated in panel discussions at Artists
Space, Art in General, MoMA PS1, and the Whitney Museum
of American Art in New York City. He is currently a member of
the Bronx Museum Acquisitions Committee. López-Chahoud
earned MFAs from Yale University School of Art and the Royal
Academy of Art in London.
