Thanks to these back benchers, who end up on
the school annual day stage performance, who
are fear-less and more popular with students.
They believe in their peers than the teachers in
the class. While all the students take notes from
the teacher’s black board, these blessed students
comprehensively copy from their friend’s
notebook – now do you realize where codesharing
and cloud sharing ideas came into light
for airlines and online data centers? Many of the
class students on many occasions had no clue
why some of the backbenchers were asked to
leave the classroom all of a sudden (hmm). Don’t
worry, it’s time to reveal the secret now, this is all
because they dared to open the tiffin boxes,
lunch boxes and eat before the recess and lunch
breaks, enjoying life on their own terms, eating
under the desk and sharing punishment times
outside class rooms.
The masterpiece of chalk art on the blackboard or
classic, traditional rangoli ink designs on desks or
the beautiful wood carvings/ graffiti especially
made by the girls in the class, shows the future
engineers in making; working on their designs,
prototypes & plans. Currently sitting in the
boardrooms at many MNC’s contributing and
shaping the world. Planning, execution,
improvisation, time and resource management.
You may hear these terms in the corporate world,
b u t a l l t h e s e h i g h e n d re s e a rc h a n d
brainstorming sessions happened decades ago
in the schools’ back benches, right from chalking
out the schedules for the cricket match to be
played in the next interval & lunch break to who
will take turns to bat and bowl in next day’s
interval and lunch breaks with such detail and
precision. Students from the back benches are
the real champions. They were not just involved
in classroom activities, but everything they could
do during that time. For instance; eating,
sleeping, chatting, drawing, making paper boats,
aeroplanes and sharing jokes which are all usually
not allowed. Through this write up of back
benches to boardrooms, want to say that
everything we as students did and learnt in our
schools help us reach to these heights in life,
please be thankful to the school, teachers and
most importantly your best pals. Also want to
cherish the beautiful memories with all of my
BHPV school boys and girls who share the same
feelings, this transformation – always astonished
things – is this really happening. Realizing this is
true brings big smile on face and heartwarming
feelings, remembering those glorious-notorious
days of our childhood at school.
