Uphill Travel routes now open
at Killington and Pico
Uphill Travel routes are open for skinning.
Make sure you grab a 2020-21 Uphill
Travel pass from the season pass office
at Snowshed, and review all of the safety
information on Killington Resort’s Uphill
Travel page before heading out to earn
your turns (killington.com/the-mountain/mountain-info/uphill-travel.)
The most crucial safety and etiquette
guidelines to keep in mind are:
1. Wear reflective clothing and a bright
headlamp if you’re traveling uphill
at night or in the early morning
hours when it’s dark or low light.
2. Travel up and down only on designated
routes marked by Uphill
Travel signage.
3. Always yield to mountain operations
vehicles, such as snowmobiles
and snowcats, and downhill traffic,
including skiers and snowboarders.
4. Travel on the edge of the trail and
don’t stand with more than two
people side-by-side across the trail.
streaming online, Jan. 14-17
A chronicle of the legendary Civil Rights
activist and Congressman
WOODSTOCK— Billings Farm & Museum’s 11th Annual Woodstock Vermont Film
Series features “John Lewis: Good Trouble,” produced and directed by award-winning
filmmaker Dawn Porter, Thursday through Sunday ahead of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Using interviews and rare archival footage, this timely film chronicles John Robert Lewis’
60-plus years of social activism and legislative action on civil rights, voting rights, gun
control, health-care reform and immigration. Using recent interviews with Lewis, then 80
years old, Porter explores his childhood experiences, his inspiring family and his fateful
meeting with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1957. In addition to her interviews with Lewis
and his family, Porter’s primarily cinéma verité film also includes interviews with political
leaders, Congressional colleagues, and other people who figure prominently in his life. An
interview with Dawn Porter by Film Series curator Jay Craven is included with the film.
“John Lewis: Good Trouble” is available for streaming from the comfort of your home
Aug.
Why? Last year they
were forced into offering
a virtual event in addition
to the in person affair
because of Covid-19
travel restrictions. By so
doing, they increased the
giving potential significantly.
Even though the in-person rider
base was down, the total amount of funds
raised was increased. Last year they had
virtual riders from as far away as Nevada.
