Discuss a book about the Blitz
The Historical Society’s Book Club will hold its
next virtual discussion on Tue Mar 23 at 7pm.
The book – The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga
of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz
– by Erik Larson, is a detailed account of Winston
Churchill’s first year as prime minister of the United
Kingdom, including during the German bombing
campaign known as the Blitz.
All are welcome to join the Zoom discussion, even
those who haven’t finished the book.

Trash will be picked
up on Presidents
Day (Mon Feb15), as
scheduled, but residents
of the Monday route
should hold their
recycling until Tuesday.
The reason? Trash is
picked up by a private
contractor; recycling
is picked up by the
Borough, which will be
closed on the holiday.
