For some folks, coping with
wintertime cabin fever is difficult.
During a pandemic, however,
it’s a real challenge.
Here’s a look back to 2019
and the ways folks banished
the“Februaries” during
normal times.
Cigar lover LOU
PACHECO of
Woodbury welcomes
any opportunity to
go outside “and light
one up.”
NANCY, who lives in
Haddonfield, used to
go skiing and embrace
the winter. “But now I
like to head downtown
and go shopping with
my friends.”
Visiting Haddonfield
from Cape May, RAY
SZULCZEWSKI has
a favorite way to
escape the miseries
of February. “I go to
Florida for a couple
of weeks ... to fish.”
Cherry Hill’s
SAM R
heads indoors
to overcome the
Februaries.
“I take refuge at the
gym,” he said.
“I love winter,”
says ANNIE
SZULCZEWSKI.
”I own a small
business in Cape
May, and the colder
months give me an
opportunity to catch
up on administrative
tasks.”
Haddonfield’s HERB
HESS would “like
to take my kids to
Florida,” but has a
neat way of looking
forward to the
spring. “I plant seeds
indoors in February,”
he said. “As the
shoots grow, they
help me count the
days til spring.”
